A: I think that you can use it but it may not fit properly at the edges. D5500 is not better than 5300 so if you are planing to update, don't do it. Otherwise you can check it at a store. Now, the main problem is the touch screen. I think the 5500 has a touch screen so i cannot guarantee that the touch will work.

I have applied many a LCD screen cover in my time. The companies keep making - esp. Expert Shield - it easier with very simple and clear instructions. The protector works to protect against scratches and fingerprints on the cameras screen. Although it picks up prints pretty easily, they wipe right off. This kit does not come with any cleaning fluid cloths, so you need your own microfiber cloth and some spray. But if you own a camera, you probably have some around. The directions recommend taping one side of the protector to the screen before exposing the adhesive. This hack worked great and both pieces installed easily. Good product. 5

I recently purchased this item for my new Nikon Z6. Both the screen shield and top LCD protector fit nicely and were easy to install. The touch screen still works perfectly. This was my major concern. Im very happy with this product. Working with B&H has always been good. They ship quickly and their web interface is very user friendly. 5

After reading the instructions I was thinking I wouldn't install it but in reality it's quite simple and the results are very good. I had no problems with specs under the glass. Do it in the bathroom with the shower running as the instructions suggest. I doesn't affect the functionality of the touchscreen and if it ever gets cracked it is removable. Look on youtube for videos. BTW - there was two protectors in the package. Maybe they give you two in case you mess. 5

It may be a bit more pricey than other options, but it is worth the money to buy this product. Most of the other ones dont even come with a second piece for the top screen. The pieces were cut exact to the size of the screens. I have dealt with other brands that have pieces that were cut to the wrong sizes. Ive used screen protectors from this brands in the past and have had no issues whatsoever. Highly recommended if you are willing to spend a few dollars more. 5
