Get detailed, full, and vivid vocal tone in live stage applications and studio recording with the Electro-Voice RE520 handheld supercardioid condenser vocal microphone. Its supercardioid condenser capsule produces a wide frequency response of 40 Hz to 20 kHz while delivering a high maximum SPL of 150 dB. The supercardioid polar pattern yields optimal acoustic isolation by rejecting sounds entering from the rear and sides of the diaphragm. A selectable 150 Hz high-pass filter allows simple and effective control of low frequencies.
Plosives and wind noise are attenuated by the integrated multi-stage pop filter, and the internal shockmount absorbs vibrations to reduce handling noise. Thanks to its 3-pin XLR output connector and phantom-powered operation, the RE520 is compatible with most mixers, audio interfaces, and mic preamps. It includes a stand clip and a gig bag.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. would the mkh50 or the mkh8050 be the best choice for recording indoor dialogue for narrative film, in cramped, reflective spaces with low ceilings?
A: While both microphones are excellent, many videographers prefer the Sennheiser MKH 50 Compact Supercardioid Condenser Microphone for recording indoor dialogue for film over the Sennheiser MKH 8050 Compact Supercardioid Condenser Microphone. The MKH 50 is more commonly used for this type of application and it does a very good job of reducing reflections and background noise.
Q: 2. This has the same connection as Shure wireless packs that I have. Would it be compatible with the Shure QLXD's?
A: Yes, the Electro-Voice RE-97TX Miniature Omnidirectional Headworn Microphone (TA4-F) will work with Shure QLXD transmitters with TA4 connections such as the QLXD1 beltpack.
Q: 3. does this mic operate wirelessly?
A: No. This is a an XLR Wired dynamic mic.
Q: 4. Am having issues with my EV R300 set The RF signal is OK but no AF signal yet the channel on the receiver and transmitter is OK I have tried even changing the frequency but no help. What could be the problem? Regards
A: It could be a problem with the microphone itself, or MUTE may be slected; please check connections and replace mic if necessary. Q: 5. Looking to store an mkh8050 and 2x mkh50s in a run bag (using this one: BH #POCSDV4U ). I leave the Rycote INV mk3 shockmounts on the mics for convenience, as well as the foam windscreens (bubblebee spacer BH #BUBBISBXS & rycote super softie BH #RYWSQAT) for additional protection. am currently putting the mics in these porta brace zipper bags (BH #POCSB93 ) to separate them within the run bag, but wanted to see if there's anything slightly larger (to fit w/ the foam windscreens, not just the rycote shockmounts) & slightly more robust in terms of protection?
A: Perhaps you can use something like the OP/TECH USA Lens/Filter Pouch, Large (B&H # OPPLFL) which is 9" high and has a 4.5" diameter, or the Ruggard Fold-Over Neoprene Lens Pouch - 3.5 x 6", Black (B&H # RULPNF35X60) or the Tenba Soft Neoprene Lens Pouch - Black, 9 x 4.8" (B&H # TETSLP948B). The Tenba Soft Molded EVA Lens Capsule with Extra Padding - Black, 9 x 4.8" (B&H # TE636359) has a more structured design for added protection. Even though these items are intended for use with camera lenses, they certainly can be used to protect the Sennheiser MKH 8050 Compact Supercardioid Condenser Microphone together with the windscreens and perhaps with the shockmount too.
Q: 6. Will it work with pixel 6 pro with USB c?
A: Yes, the TASCAM TM-250U Supercardioid USB Type-C Condenser Microphone is compatible with Android devices which support audio over USB-C.
Q: 7. I see on the back that it has a 12V 500mA input power jack. Does B&H sell an AC adaptor that works with this system? Also, does the microphone also require batteries, and if so, what type? Thank you!
A: Unfortunately the description of the Receiver does not indicate whether an AC adapter is included in the package as sold. The description, however, makes it very clear that the microphone (sender) uses 2 AA alkaline batteries which should work for 14 hrs.
Q: 8. Will this microphone work well with the Sony UTX-P40 +48v Phantom power wireless plug on?
A: Yes, the Sennheiser e 865 Handheld Condenser Microphone is compatible for use with the Sony UTX-P40 Wireless Plug-On Transmitter. The transmitter will supply the proper amount of voltage that the mic requires.
Q: 9. What type of USB-C cable does this need? I've tried a bunch of other USB-C cables and only the one that was included works.
A: You should be able to use a USB cable like the Pearstone USB 2.0 Type-C to USB Type-A Charge & Sync Cable - 6' (B&H # PEUSB3CMAM6) as a replacement for the original USB cable included with the TASCAM TM-250U Supercardioid USB Type-C Condenser Microphone. Be sure to set up your computer's Audio Input and Audio Output preferences so that the audio from the TM-250U is recognized and that you can monitor the audio through the mic's built-in 3.5mm headphone jack.
Q: 10. Which shockmount would be perfect for It?
A: Here's a quality Rycote shock mount suggestion for the MKH8050 BH #RYINVHGMKIII.
