A: It sounds like you want to put it in front of your lens instead of putting them on a flash or strobe. If that is the case, I would say yes, it will work from an exposure perspective and will reduce your exposure by a 1/4 to 1/3 of a stop. BUT... these are not optically perfect like a screw on yellow filter for black and white might be. The wavelength of light you would filter with these filters would not be uniform or constant and would introduce distortion across the light spectrum. These will never be a substitute for optical filters but they would produce an interesting effect.

A: No, if you read the description closely it says black; not white, gray and black like I was under the impression from when I saw the photo.

A: Cinefoil, given it's a heavy foil and more plyable can be used over and over.....kind of really depends on what and how you are using it. Cinefoil isn't like traditional foil where it can tear easily .....this stuff is bendable and foldable and can be very durable.So how long it last really does depend on what you need it to do and how well you treat it.To give you a timeline, I normally buy a roll of foil about once every 6 months (maybe longer) and we shoot weekly and some times daily.
