The OCTOPACK-H Octopack Portable Multicoupler from Lectrosonics provides up to eight audio channels and combines up to four SRa Series compact receivers into a lightweight, rugged assembly with self-contained power supply and antenna signal distribution. To ensure equal performance from all connected receivers, the Octopack features 640 to 862 MHz high RF bandwidth ultra-quiet amplifiers. These amplifiers provide a very high overload threshold to avoid generating IM (intermodulation) within the multicoupler itself.

The Octopack can accommodate up to four SRa Series compact receivers. These receivers can be installed in any of the four slots, or a slot can be left empty with no need to terminate the RF coaxial connections. The receivers interface with the Octopack board via the Unislot adapter.

The wide bandwidth of the antenna multicoupler allows the use of SRa Series receivers over a wide range of frequency blocks to simplify frequency coordination. Antenna inputs are standard 50-ohm BNC jacks.

Eight balanced outputs are provided on the side panel of the multicoupler. When the receivers operate in the 2-channel mode, each jack provides a separate audio channel. In the ratio diversity mode, the receivers are paired, so both output jacks deliver the same audio channel. The connectors are standard TA3M types with the same pin-out numbering as XLR connectors.

The DC power on the BNC jacks can be switched-On for use with Lectrosonics UFM230 RF amplifiers or the ALP640 powered antenna for long coaxial cable runs. An LED next to the recessed switch indicates the antenna power status.

The rear/bottom panel provides a locking power jack and mounting for two L or M style rechargeable batteries (not included). When batteries and external DC are both connected, power is drawn from the source with the highest voltage to allow the batteries to function as a backup to the external power. If the external source fails, the batteries will immediately take over and the power LED will blink slowly. For reliability, the switching is handled by circuitry rather than a mechanical switch. This automatic selection of power is achieved by the automatic power source selection functionality which is controlled by the integrated voltage comparator. The Octopack features discrete power distribution with individual protective fusing.

The front panel is designed to accept the standard or the "5P" version of the receiver, which provides audio outputs on the front panel of the receiver. The second set of audio outputs can be used for a redundant feed to a recorder in addition to the main outputs that would typically feed wireless transmitters in a bag system or a mixer on a sound cart.

The housing is constructed of machined aluminum with a reinforced rear/bottom panel to protect the batteries and power jack. The front panel includes two rugged handles that protect the connectors, receiver front panels, and antenna jacks.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the output work as it is recording?

A: Yes, the Lectrosonics SPDR Stereo Portable Digital Recorder has an analog 3.5mm TRS line level output which does work while recording.

Q: 2. Would the SPDR record a stereo 24-bit / 192 kHz signal if it's fed through its AES input?

A: Yes, the Lectrosonics SPDR Stereo Portable Digital Recorder can record stereo audio at 24-bit / 192 kHz when using the AES3 digital input.

Q: 3. I have 4 UCR411s. I want to connect those to a single RF Venue Diversity Antenna. Would I use one of these for A signals from the UCR411s and another for the B signals? And then just use the input to go to the RF Venue fin? Or do I have the input/outputs of this thing wrong in my head?

A: This is possible to do. However, when you split the antennae feed to the receivers, you will suffer a reduction/ level loss. For that reason, it is suggested to use B&H# LEUFM144. Select 5dB boost and then your revers will all receive an adequate signal

Q: 4. Do you have it in block 23?Thank you Itamar

A: We offer block 23 receivers: Lectrosonics - SRb Camera Slot UHF Receiver (Block 23) - B&H# LESRB23 Product Highlights 588.800 - 607.900/614.100 - 614.300 MHz Dual Receiver Design Dual Channel SmartDiversity Reception Single Channel Ratio Diversity Reception LCD with RF Spectrum Scanner SmartSquelch for Noiseless Muting Automatic Power State Restoration DSP-Based Pilot Tone Squelch Rear Panel & Front Panel Audio Outputs Supports Transmitter Talkback Feature

Q: 5. Is it compatible with Shure ADX5D-JB (806-810MHz)?

A: No. The PSC RF Six Pack Slot Receiver has an operational frequency range of 470 to 618 MHz and 940 MHz to 960 MHz for use in North America. It is not compatible with a Shure Axient ADX5D-JB Dual-Channel Wireless Receiver that operates in the 806 to 810 MHz frequency band.

Q: 6. Does it provide phantom power?

A: No, the Lectrosonics SPDR does not provide phantom power, although it provides 2-4V plugin power for lavalier microphones.

Q: 7. Will this device allow me to attach one directional antenna together with two diversity receivers for wireless microphones ?

A: You would need two of each for two receivers. Each receiver needs two separate antennas. So you would not need a 4-way splitter to do this. Two 2-way splitters would do the job if you have 2 antennas. The part number for a 2-way splitter is ZSC24.

Q: 8. is it compatible with saramonic blink 500 pro?

A: Yes you can use the Saramonic SR-UM10-C35XLR with the Saramonic Blink 500 Pro receiver.

Q: 9. Can I send a stereo line out to two ta3 inputs on a Sound Devices 633 with this cable?

A: That should work. Just be sure phantom power is off on those inputs!

Q: 10. will this work with sirui w2204? thanks

A: No, Sirui SR-66C Center Column for SR Series Tripods BH #SISUSR66C is compatible with only the SR-3004, SR-3204, and SR-3203 tripods and it will not work with the Sirui W2204.
