However, to provide more detail, ground spreaders are very stable and can go very low, making it easier to get to the desired height quickly, but they do get dirty. Also, ground spreaders will be more difficult to set up on uneven ground. Mid-level spreaders are good for uneven ground. While they are cleaner, mid-level spreaders are less stable and they require more adjustment when selecting the height and leveling your tripod legs.

A: I have been nothing but pleased with this rig with my EOS 7D and the C500 - the only trick is that the C500 is Heavy and would need an additional tripod at the end of the travel of the slide or it might tilt. Some use 2 ALX system tripods either end, but I just used mine with the ALX in the center with a static old lighting tripod screwed into one end ( 1/4 20thread holes on both ends ) Most efficient, compact and performance based excellence in my whole kit.
