Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this tripod come with the ball head shown or do I have to buy it?

A: This tripod does not come with a ballhead. Here is a fine matching one. Benro G3 Low-Profile Triple Action Ball Head MFR #G3.

Q: 2. Will this work with 42mm tube? 42mm is 1.66". It's pretty close.

A: No, it will not be able to close with a pipe that is over 1.61 inches.

Q: 3. Any suggestions on what to do with the foam windscreens once we put the mics in these cases?

A: You would want to get a separate pouch to carry the windscreens in, such as this B&H # AUWMC100.

Q: 4. Hi, was wondering if one might be able to save some weight on long hikes when using this tripod with the short column instead of the center column. What is the weight of this tripod with the center column swapped out for the short column? Thanks:)

A: By using the short column for the Benro TMA47AXL Extra Long Series 4 Mach3 Aluminum Tripod, you would save a bit less than a pound in weight.

Q: 5. Does this fit the Sennheiser MKH-50?

A: The Sennheiser MKH 50 P48 Microphone is only 5.91" long, so it will fit inside the Rycote Mic Tubes (Long, 3-Pack), which can accommodate microphones between 7.9 and 13.4".

Q: 6. do these fit Oktava MC-012 mikes, which have a larger flange on the end of the capsule?

A: Although not outright stated as compatible, the Rycote Microphone Twist Tubes (Set of 3) seem to be compatible with mics with a larger diameter than the diameter listed by Oktava for the MC-012 mic at its widest point. They should be able to fit.

Q: 7. Hi everyone, someone commented here that tripod base diameter is 56mm,is it so? Can someone confirm this please? Also do you reckon SiruiK-10x Ball Head will fit on top of this tripod? Thank you

A: A 56mm diameter sounds about right. The Sirui K-10x Ball Head will fit without issue on this tripod.

Q: 8. does this fit Shoeps cmc641?

A: Yes, the Rycote 048808 Microphone Twist Tubes are compatible with the Schoeps CMC series microphones.

Q: 9. How to fix a broken lock mechanism? I only had the tripod for 2 months and one of the locking mechanisms is broken. The lock rotates but doesn't actually unlock. Any suggestions on how and where to get this fixed?

A: Contact the manufacturer and explain what happened and include a snap shot of your purchase order to verify everything. Ask if the warranty is broken if you remove the leg to see what is broken? If they approve and you feel comfortable removing that leg pivot pin, I'd do that to see what is actually broken. Phone snap a picture of it if broken and email it to manufacturer to see if they can send you a new part. This may be faster to repair as they simply send you a part. I have this tripod and it's been working fine.

Q: 10. Why is the Cardellini Manfrotto 492 Ball head more expensive than the Manfrotto 492 micro ball head?

A: The Cardellini Manfrotto 492 Micro Ball Head with Mic Clamp would be a combination of two different products from two different manufacturers, whereas the Manfrotto 492 Micro Ball Head (sold by itself) is a single item from a single manufacturer. As such, the Cardellini Manfrotto 492 Micro Ball Head with Mic Clamp would be higher in price compared to the ball head sold by itself.

This is really a beautiful tripod. Feels very rigid. Solid with a lot or a little gear on top. Very I,pressed with Benro.

This is my 2nd Benro product & I am beyond pleased with the build & quality & performance. I got this originally because I do mostly wedding Cinematography & I am up front to the left. EVERYTIME the Officiant says Arise, or Please Stand as the Bride enters I only see heads. My goal was to capture the Brides processional. With a 7foot clearance with this tripod, I have no worries, I raise it up & it clears heads & captures the Bride. The packaging is superb. It comes with a case, & inside the case it has another bag it comes with. You can tell they take pride in their products just by the packaging alone!
