Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this compatible with the kodak color plus 100 ?

A: The Kodak ColorPlus 200 Color Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) is very much like the ColorPlus 100 film. It is one stop better in low light at 200 vs 100 iso.

Q: 2. Safe for ECN-2 processing?

A: C-41 processing should be used for this film. ECN-2 processing will work, but the images will have very flat contrast and subdued color palettes.

Q: 3. Is this a daylight or tungsten balanced film?

A: The CineStill Film 400Dynamic Color Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) is daylight balanced.

Q: 4. The film will be effected if I develop it after 8 months after?

A: The film may lose some of its latent image over a period of 8 months but generally should be ok. It is of course best practice to develop the film right away.

Q: 5. Could you reduce price for high quantity?

A: Unfortunately, we cannot. The prices we have listed for film are the best that we can offer.

Q: 6. Is this priced as one roll or 3 rolls?

A: Kodak ColorPlus 200 Color Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) is one (1) roll of film.

Q: 7. Do you have any information on this films reciprocity characteristics when used for long exposures like in astrophotography?

A: Per CineStill: “ We do not currently have a published data sheet regarding reciprocity failure compensation. For very long exposures in very low light some other variables come in to play such as the accuracy of the light measurement. This means that some trial and error may be required. As with all color negative film, it’s usually best to err on the side of giving the film more exposure to create a denser negative with more information for color correcting when scanning or printing in the darkroom.”

Q: 8. Is this DX coded?

A: Yes, the CineStill Film 400Dynamic Color Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) is DX coded.

Q: 9. Is it ok to store the film in the fridge for like 9 months after it’s already exposed and then develop it? Will it be effected?

A: You can certainly keep film in the fridge, exposed or unexposed, but I don't know that I would wait 9 months to have it developed. The sooner the better.

Q: 10. If Kodak no longer makes film, how old is this film?

A: This is brand new film and still being made by Kodak.

The pictures from this film are stark raving beautiful. It's high contrast so not for weddings and such (Portra, Porta and more Portra) but can't be beat for general photography. I like the fact that it comes in 24 and 36 exposures so you have flexibility for different use situations.

Kodak may have crumbled under horrifically bad management, but their chemistry remains the best in the industry. I brought several of these three packs with me on a recent trip to Miami, and the results are delightful across landscape, portrait and still life photography. Shot with my trusty EOS 3 + Sigma 35mm f1.4 combo, dev and scan by Bellows in Wynwood.

FRESH FILM 24 exposure rolls are difficult to find for short shooting sessions, rather than the 36 exp.,which may linger inside in your camera till the roll is finished.

This might not be for everyone, but I had a blast experimenting with dubble film's Solar pre-exposed film. You won't have any idea how it looks until it's developed, and that's part of the fun. Very experimental and colorful, exactly what I was looking for. Every place that develops film will develop this, too.

Gives your photos a yellowish tint, especially when you underexpose the shadows. It's the same price everywhere online and in store, so it's good to have an opinion about it because you can get it anywhere.
