Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens focus confirm?

A: It will not. The 7artisans 60mm f/2.8 Macro Mk II for Fujifilm X does not have electronic contacts and has no electronic communication with the camera. As such, all manual focus aids such as digital split imaging, digital microprism, and focus peaking will derive from the camera.

Q: 2. Is this a manual focus only lens or is there auto focus with the Canon EOS-R camera?

A: This is a manual focus and aperture lens. You will need to control both the focus and aperture on the lens.

Q: 3. can I use it with my canon 70d?

A: This lens is designed for use with Canon RF-mount mirrorless cameras--it's not compatible with Canon EF-mount DSLR cameras.

Q: 4. How do I use this with my Nikon D90?

A: Unfortunately, this lens is for micro-four-thirds cameras and not useable on a D90.

Q: 5. The manufacturer's choice of a 39mm filter thread poses a problem for accessories. Are there any step-up rings to 52 or 62mm and if so, how do they work for people?

A: Yes, click the link below to view; https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=sesur39*&N=0&InitialSearch=yes&sts=ma

Q: 6. How do I use this on my Nikon D90?

A: Unfortunately, this lens is for micro-four-thirds cameras and not useable on a D90.

Q: 7. Its official web says "Even the macro scene is really small, you can also use an extension accessory to get a 2:1 to 3:1 macro image." What extension tube can work with this len?

A: You can essentially use any tube you want, or stack them for even more magnification/shallowness. Kenko extension tubes (with AF for your other lenses): https://bhpho.to/36ao8sF Vello (with AF): https://bhpho.to/3ceVN8e FotodioX (w/o AF): https://bhpho.to/39f3XLW

Q: 8. Hello there, I own a Nikon Z 6 and this lens looks like a nice for a macro on a budget setup. The question i have is how will it behave on a full frame body since it's designed for DX cropped sensors. Any sample images?

A: On the Z6, you can choose FX (default) or DX image area. If you use this lens with the FX image area, you will have vignetting (dark shadows in each corner) in each image; if you choose DX image area, the images will look normal.

Q: 9. Has anyone used this for scanning photo negatives?

A: We cannot test the lens for digitizing film but using an actual film scanner such as the Epson V600 would be much higher quality than using your camera. Please take a look at the following link: https://bhpho.to/3dniCnW The reasons why a scanner would be better than a digital camera are: A scanner has a much higher resolution. A scanner has dust and scratch removal software. A scanner can also scan negatives and reverse the colors back to a positive. A digital camera only shoots one color per pixel and guesses the 2 missing colors. In other words, one pixel is shot as red and the camera estimates how much blue and green are in that same pixel. The next pixel is shot as blue and the camera estimates the red and green. A scanner actually scans the image 3 times with a tri-color filter so it is scanning each pixel as red, green and blue as opposed to guessing the missing colors as a digital camera does. Basically a scanner will be more color accurate, better tonal range and it will give you better highlight and shadow details.

Q: 10. Is this lense is suitable for Z6? Using in a dx modebwill affect picture quality?

A: This lens would better suit the Z50 or even a Z7. Since it's a DX lens, on a Z6/Z6ii you would get half the resolution (so about 10-12mp). On a Z50 you would get the full 20 mp, and a Z7/Z7ii still would have plenty of resolution. In short, it's not optimal for a Z6/Z6ii. The image quality will be quite lower than you're used to but it can work depending on your needs.

This a review of the 7artisans Photoelectric 60mm f/2.8 Macro Mark II lens. I do not understand where the photoelectric reference is referring to, but it is, indeed, a fine lens.

It's fully manual and the focus and aperture rings are smooth and have quality feel. Overall, the lens is well built and solid.

Ou can still use it for distance photography, the throw of the focus ring is very short at those distances.

I'm very happy with this lens, B&H ships quickly and for macro use, you cannot beat it.

You do realize that the lens has a 49mm filter thread for filters so if you actually lost the lens cap you could buy a 49mm lens cap for about $2 and pop it straight on.

This lens is very very good if you dont want to spend lots on a dedicated macro. I use it for pro use for jewelry for magazines. Even using it in 35 crop mode its 10mp but plenty for magazines.

I am not a professional photographer and did not want to spend $500 for a macro lens. I have a Sony Alpha a 6100 and I was looking for a lens for up close nature shots. This is a great lens for me, even though it is on the heavy side for what I am used to.The kit lens that came with my camera is so light! I am enjoying the manual focus and the ability to take beautiful macro shots.

Everyone who buy 7artisans lens should expect to spend 5$ buy a normal lens cap.
