This 52mm Solid ICE MC UV Filter from Ice is a general-use, clear filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. Aside from the reduction of unwanted blue casts, no additional coloration or contrast is created, and adjustments to exposure are not required while using this filter. It is constructed from tempered optical glass for shock resistance, clarity, and color fidelity. It features a slim aluminum alloy filter ring that helps prevent vignetting while remaining durable and lightweight.

To help eliminate internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface of this 52mm Solid ICE MC UV Filter features six layers of anti-reflective coatings. The filter is also coated for resistance to oil and static, offering greater protection to the filter substrate and helping it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters. Those coatings are hydrophobic, resulting in an improved beading effect when in contact with water for greater cleaning efficiency.

A: The Ice 52mm HB760 Infrared Filter blocks UV / Visible Light under 760nm. This will not work with Ilford SFX 200 Black and White Negative Film that only has sensitivity up to 740nm. Near IR film does not have the sensitivity to work with this filter.

A: Its intuitive. The operation is like removing the cover from a remote control. The difference is that the ice lights battery is a tight fit so press down on the body of the battery to relive the tennis on on the catch while lifting up the release catch.

A: While the Ice 82mm Magnetic Light Pollution Filter & Magnetic Adapter and the Freewell Magnetic Base Ring for VND Filters (82mm) are both magnetic filters, the Ice filters have not been tested on the Freewell magnetic base. Also, the Freewell filters and magnetic base are special order items not kept in our inventory, nor are on display in our NYC Superstore. We cannot test these items for compatibility. There is a possibility the items may be used with one another, but we have no confirmation on this.
