Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is this adaptor compatible for cf 80mm lens for Canon EOS 5D mark ii -G?

A: No. Unless you have a Nikon F mount to canon EF adapter. I recently bought this adapter and was disappointed with the results. Just buy the canon 85mm 1.8 lens

Q: 2. Does the aperture priority mode actually work, and is there a difference of focus like on a DSLR if you use a lens it’ll appear in focus but when you take the picture it won’t be because of the different distance to the sensor

A: Aperture priority works but no other function, as there aren't any electric contacts for any other communication. The images should appear in focus before and after a photo is taken. Front or back focus issues does not occur when using mirror-less cameras.

Q: 3. Hi. I would like to buy this adapter, but does it fully compatible to Nikon D7100 and D800 bodies, using Carl Zeiss Plannar 80 T* lens? How may I set apperture and speed using vintages Carl Zeiss lenses with Nikon DSLR? Via camera body or lens?

A: The hassy lens has a manual setting for the aperture, the camera needs to go on automatic or shutter priority. I used it with my Nikon D800, it will be heavy with the lens and you need to keep an eye on dust. The fitting will not be precise, it will either be loose or too tight, if you are the hands on fixer, you can file a bit the connectors of add grafers tape to make a snug fit and that wont make it rattle. Focus is all manual.

Q: 4. Hi, Any ideas if this will fit a MIRANDA 24mm f2.8 for an old Olympus? (to a Nikon D90 camera)I have tried a simple Nikon to OM adapter ring, and it has the wrong screw hole spacing and no recess in the collar for the lens removal trigger.

A: No, that adapter is not compatible with the D90.

Q: 5. Is this adapter for the Contax 645 lenses mounted on the Nikon Z?

A: This adapter is for Contax/Yashica lenses in the 35mm format to work on the Nikon Z.

Q: 6. Can you change the aperture on the lens or stop it down at all?

A: It the lenses you are using have an f/stop ring you can control the f/stop from that. If it does not the adapter has a diaphragm that you can open and close to control the amount of light getting to the camera. The adapter is manual only so it does not transfer any electronics to the camera to control f/stops or autofocus.

Q: 7. Will this adaptor allow the lenses to be mounted to Nikon DX bodies as well?

A: Yes, the adaptor allows the screw mount Lens to mate with the Nikon DX body without a problem, don't forget the camera will only operate in manual mode.

Q: 8. Will this work with Contax G2 rangefinder film camera Zeiss lenses?

A: Hi--yes, this adapter is compatible with G2 lenses.

Q: 9. Will it adapt a Hasselblad 80mm lens to a D7000 with full focus range

A: Yes, the FotodioX Pro Adapter for Hasselblad V Lens to Nikon F-Mount Camera will allow you to use a Hasselblad 80mm lens on a Nikon D7000 with the ability to focus to infinity.

Q: 10. can my nikon d750 still give me focus confirmation with this adapter?

A: The short answer is no, the adapter will work optically, but there isn't any autofocus at all. On the auto focus lenses you use with your D750, you should notice electrical contacts that are absent on the lens you are trying to use with this adaptor. With no electrical connection to the lens auto-focus is not possible. That being said, the adaptor, along with the corrective lens in the adaptor will allow manual focus. I used this adaptor with a 50mm f/1.4 Takumar lens that came with my Asahi Spotmatic, and it's a terrific lens, so if your M42 mount lens is a good one, this adaptor will allow you to use it.
