Designed to be attached between a Nikon Z-mount camera body and lens, this FotodioX 35mm Pro Automatic Macro Extension Tube allows the lens to focus closer than its normal minimum focus distance. By placing space between the camera body and lens, focusing distance is shortened and the effect of magnifying your subject is created. Extension tubes enable macro performance for lenses not otherwise able to focus as closely and are also suited for near-range portraiture.

Extension tubes have no optical elements, so they do not degrade the quality of your lenses. These extension tubes support electronic communication between an attached camera and lens, enabling autofocus, image stabilization, as well as camera-controlled program, aperture-priority, shutter-priority, and manual modes. If an attached lens is also capable of generating Exif metadata when used with a directly compatible camera, this Pro Automatic Macro Extension Tube is designed to allow that information to be saved along with image files generated with a combination of the lens, the camera, and the adapter.

A nice solidly built extension tube for the EOS R / RF camera system. All metal construction with a good fit to the camera body and lens. The only slight issue I can see that you don't get that measuring click when the lens locks onto the tube, as you do when it locks onto the camera. It does lock on and you can't remove the lens without using the release catch, but, I suspect that the locking pin isn't quite aligned perfectly and so only partially attaching. On the camera the tube does a good job of providing extra magnification as you would expect from something this solidly built. On my Canon RF 35mm F1.8 MACRO IS STM it takes the maximum magnification from 0.5x to 0.93x. The combination always seems to be able to focus and the magnification gain is pretty impressive. I did see a review that said you got a wooden storage box with the extender but this didn't turn out to be the case. Which is fine as I thought it was a little over the top. It would have been nice to have a front and rear cap set included but it doesn't come with any. A standard set of Canon RF rear cap and EOS R body caps do the job acceptably but are about 1mm wider than the extension tube. 5

After having tried a cheaper option offered here and returning it because of how cheap the materials were (and because I feared putting a lens at the end of it), I settled on this extension tube. This extension tube is of great quality and well worth the money and I have no doubt that it'll last. I use my caps from the camera body and the lens I primarily have attached to keep it free from dust so I don't care that it didn't come with a pair. It (35mm) works perfectly with my Nikon Z7 II coupled with my Nikon Z 105mm and helps me get even closer to my subjects! I can't recommend it enough, why cheap out when your lens is on the line using extension tubes? 5

This is a very well made extension tube and could easily cost twice as much. The build quality is excellent. And, it functions as advertised! I am using this with a Nikon Z7 and have tried it with an IRIX 150mm macro, Nikon 105mm f2.8, and the Sigma 180mm macro - everything works as expected. When I purchased this I was skeptical that everything would work - but I was wrong. Thanks Fotodiox. 5
