It's a great addition to my iMac. I always wished the new iMac had more USB ports since it didn't come with an internal optical drive so one or two of the ports would always be taken up by an external drive. Another port would be connected to the keyboard, leaving only one port open a lot of times. That was inconvenient since I do a lot of video editing work and always need to connect external hard drives to my computer. The Transcend hub with the power adaptor gives me more ports without losing much data speed. Now I can have everything hooked up to the iMac at the same time instead of plugging and unplugging all the time. I have yet to try the speed charge for iPhone, though. 5

I bought this because my MBP only has two USB ports, and to be honest, that's not a whole lot. I run two external hard drives off this but a flash drive for quick data transfers off-site. It works. You plug it in, you hook up your USB devices and go. What more do you need? 5

I needed this for a Microsoft Windows 8 Surface Pro as it only had one USB 3.0 port. I tried a non-powered hub only to find out that when using an external hard drive, it would consume most of the available power from the computer, leaving other attached peripherals unstable. This powered hub worked perfectly with all of the other devices attached. 5

I had gotten to the point with two external hard drives, laser mouse, keyboard, printer, flat bed scanner, etc. that I no longer had open USB ports for all my hard-wired and wireless equipment. That resulted in a lot of plugging and unplugging. This 4-port hub is just the ticket to solve that problem. The dedicated fast charging port is a nice additional feature.
