The Proaim Powermatic Scissor 17' Telescopic Jib Arm supports up to a 33-pound camera at full extension. This motorized jib arm can be operated by a single person, and it features a reach of 2.7' when collapsed to 13' when fully extended. This innovative design includes a motor powered by a single V-mount battery. The motor rides along the rear of the arm, behind the fulcrum. The design of the arm allows the motor to expand the small area behind the fulcrum, simultaneously adjusting the counterbalance distance from the fulcrum while extending the arm. This allows the jib arm to stay in balance without adjusting the weights between shots. Counterbalance weights are required but must be sourced separately.

The design uses 70 high-speed bearings to maintain the jib's rigidity and allow it to expand and retract quickly. The arm mounts on a flat base tripod or dolly (not included) and features independent pan and tilt locks. The jib arm and all necessary components, except the battery and counterbalance weights, fit into the included flight case.

A: To attach a DJI RS 2 Gimbal Stabilizer (B&H# DJRONINS2) to a Proaim 18' Jib Arm (B&H# PRP18) you could use many different products, but at a minimum just some basic hardware such as a 1/4"-20 bolt and washers; No special adapter is required.

Q: 8. What accessories are needed to make this work with a DJI RS2 or RS3 gimbal? In particular which mount is needed to mount the gimbal without its battery grip, and then power via v-mount and control the gimbal by the jib operator? Also how should we power the camera? We have d-tap power cables, but how do we connect this best to the v-mount in the back of the jib? Or is there another v-mount plate in the front?

A: I recommend using the Tilta Remote Control Kit for DJI Gimbals. This will allow you to mount the gimbal to the jib and power it by v mount or gold mount batteries. It will also allow the operator to control the gimbal remotely. You are able to mount a V-mount or Gold mount plate to the Proaim Powermatic Scissor 17'. I recommend powering the camera and jib off that.
