Q: 3. Just wondering how this would compare to the Sony FE 70-200mm f/4.0 G OSS Lens as far as taking bird photos in my yard???????

A: The Sony FE 70-200mm f/4 will ultimately be faster and sharper, as it has a constant f/4 aperture compared to a variable aperture lens.

Q: 4. Is there a switch to turn the image stabilization off? If not, what are the consequences when shooting at slow shutter speed in low light?

A: This lens is fully compatible with Sony A7III , look for a firmware updates

Q: 9. What is the performance like with this lens on the FS7? Is it a superzoom or just AF? Can the FS7 make up in image quality what the lens is lacking?

A: I am using it on an A7s and an a6000. Overall the lens is ok, it's not great, but I knew that going in. I wanted autofocus for my travel pics. Having said that, I am very happy with the lens in general and have not felt the published flaws of this lens get in the way of great travel pics. If you are really picky and/or need to use it professionally, it might not be the lens for you.

Q: 10. I use this lens with my Sony a6000. I have noticed lately that this lens has been rocking or twisting back and forth (in the same direction as if I am adjusting the zoom). Is this something I need to be concerned about and take in to get serviced? What could cause it to do that?

A: I am running this lens with an a6000 as well, and I have had a small amount of play in that direction since day one. Mine will rock back and forth less that 1mm if I play with it, but I've never noticed it when actually using the zoom ring or focusing. If it is getting worse I would call Sony. Since this lens hasn't been out for too long I bet yours is still under warranty and that they would fix any issues for free. Even if it is out of warranty it shouldn't cost too much to be serviced. I've had them service a lens before, they have you send it to Precision Camera--they got it back to me pretty quick. Might be a good solution if you don't have a shop nearby.

After reading some not favourable reviews I was hesitant to buy one, but I felt I had to give it a try. I bought one OB from B&H and it looks like brand new with all the intact packaging, accessories in plastic bags and even manuals in a plastic bag. After testing it in various lighting conditions and using different focal lengths I can conclude that this lens in 90% of shooting scenarios is the same as having both : 24-70 f4 and 70-300. Also, Sony FF cameras can crop internally, so the focal length may be extended to 360mm with a bit lower resolution in APSC format. So far - so good in other words. Please see the attached images.

It is definitely not the sharpest lens out there but its a great travel lens and it does its job. It performs very well in good lighting condition. All I have to say is good things about this lens comparing to price.

Great lens for the price! I love the feel of it. The zoom does not slip in and out. Not too heavy either. I can get good shots zooming all the way out. What I love about this lens is the fact I dont have to switch lenses anymore. Great range from 24-240 mm.

Great lens! A little heavier than I expected but still lighter and more convenient than carrying multiple lenses when traveling. 24 to 240 mp covers all the range I need and balances well with an A7RII. Very sharp and fast auto focus. Great all around lens.

This lens is used on Sony A7II and A7RII cameras. It is very sharp and gives that added wide angle over a 28 mm lens.
