The digital camo TravelCoat for Sony FE 400mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens with Hood from LensCoat is a 3.0mm-thick, shock-absorbing, closed-cell neoprene lens cover designed to be used without the lens hood. It was designed to fully protect the lens when it is not in use, without the need for a more comprehensive lens case. It allows more room in your camera bag for other necessities. The coat slides over the lens and closes with a secure touch fastener. Digital camo is an advanced computer-generated pattern modeled after the U.S. Army's standard-issue ACU design. It features pixelated rectangles to maximize visual break up. The pattern mimics naturally occurring dappled textures and rough boundaries.

if you want to see the eyes of a bear without being a snack? This lens works great and has stunning optics but no bear repellant :)

I read a review here about when the lens is tilted Fremont it pulls out due to the weight - I find the tighten ring provided works very well to control this.

I was a little hesitant with getting this lens but have to say it is one of my favorites to use when there is a good opportunity. I purchased it with the 1.4x teleconverter which stays on the lens most of the time. If you are looking for a longer reach for your Sony camera that you can still carry around with ease, I'd say this is it. Optics are excellent and despite the f4.5-5.6 aperture you can still get some great results using it handheld like these attached cardinal photos.

When you spend $12,000 for a lens like the Sony 400mm f/2.8 GM, the last thing you want is a cheap link between the lens and the tripod clamp. The Kirk foot is smart, well made and yet reasonably priced. This is my third Kirk replacement foot (100-400mm and 200-600mm).

The length of the foot allows me to balance the lens on a gimbal-style head, whether I'm shooting with the camera body only or with a camera body and vertical grip.

I also really like the QD socket when I'm carrying the lens with a strap for handheld action shooting instead of on a tripod or mono pod.

This foot has it all. I'm very happy with this replacement foot and B&H!
