Designed to be attached between a compatible lens and a Micro Four Thirds mount camera, the Olympus MC-20 M.Zuiko Digital 2x Teleconverter doubles the magnification of select Olympus lenses, dramatically boosting the apparent focal length of those lenses with a minimal increase to the size or weight of the camera and lens combination.

Electronic communication between an attached camera and lens is supported, maintaining autofocus and image stabilization, including Olympus FAST AF as well as 5-Axis Image Stabilization features whenever possible. Inside this teleconverter, nine optical elements including one HR lens, in four groups with Olympus's ZERO coating help to ensure clarity and color fidelity while reducing ghosting and flare.

Sealed against dust, moisture, and the effects of freezing temperatures, this teleconverter is constructed for dependable weather resistance. When used with the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm f/4 IS PRO Lens, this teleconverter also enables tele-macro photography with up to 0.96x magnification as well as up to +5 EV stops of image stabilization with the Olympus OM-D E-M1X Mirrorless Digital Camera.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How many stops of light are affected by this teleconverter ?

A: Typically all 2x converters lose 2 stops of light.

Q: 2. What is the minimum focal distance with the 40-150 2.8 at the 80mm equivalent and the 300mm equivalent?

A: The minimum focus distance is the same as it would be without a teleconverter--2.95 feet for the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/4-5.6 R or 2.3 feet for the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO.

Q: 3. Can I get replacement caps for my teleconverter?

A: The Sensei Body Cap and Rear Lens Cap Kit for Micro 4/3, BH #SEBCM43RCK would be compatible. https://bhpho.to/2RKLwsP

Q: 4. Will the mc-20 work on a Panasonic g7 Camera ?

A: Olympus MC-20 M.Zuiko Digital 2x Teleconverter will work, on a Panasonic micro Four Third mount camera, Olympus or Panasonic. The lens that is connected to the MC-20 must be an Olympus lens. Not all Olympus lenses will work using the MC-20 Teleconverter. The MC-20 is compatible with three of Olympus' professional telephoto lenses: the 40-150mm f/2.8 Pro, the 300mm f/4 IS Pro, and the upcoming M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm F4.5 TC1.25x IS Pro.

Q: 5. El MC-20 2X work with olympus12-100 pro lens, olympus?

A: No, it is compatible with the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F2.8 PRO and the M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO

Q: 6. using the om system new 90mm macro lens and the mc-20 2x teleconverter my lowest f stop is f/10 rather than f/8 - why?

A: I have the same issue with the Nikon 105mm 2.8 macro lens. When the focus is set at infinity I can get 2.8 aperture but at 1x magnification the maximum aperture drops to 4.8. That is because when you increase the magnification the relative aperture is changes even though the effective aperture is not. Some cameras don't really list the difference between effective aperture and relative aperture in a macro lens, so you don't really see that difference. This OM System camera with the teleconverter is actually showing you the effective aperture this time.

Q: 7. will this work with the 12-200 3.5-6.3 ED MSC lens?

A: The Olympus MC-20 M.Zuiko Digital 2x Teleconverter is not compatible with the 12-200mm lens.

Q: 8. Will this work with Olympus 75mm f1.8?

A: The MC-20 is not compatible with the Olympus 75mm f/1.8 lens.

Q: 9. Will this work with Olympus 100-400 IS lens? How much clarity will you lose?

A: The degrade of clarity depends on lens and sensor combo. To avoid that much lost of clarity we highly suggest 1.4 tele.

Q: 10. Can you shoot in auto focus with this converter on the Olympus 300mm lens?

A: Yes, that is the main reason I bought the 300mm f4 IS Pro and the MC-14 together. I actually havent even used the 300mm lens without the converter. I paired the two together on my first outing to photograph small birds and they stayed together since then. Good pair I must say, image quality is very good. Which reminds me, I need to try the 300mm lens alone to see if I could detect any improvement with quality with the naked eye. However, as I said the lens with the mC-14 delivers well detailed files suitable for processing them to large prints.

Used it recently with the Olympus 40-150 2.8 pro. It worked like a charm. It gave me the reach I needed with seemly no loss of image quality.

Light and small keep camera and lens talking while getting objects/birds/animals 2x closer.

Does exactly what it should. Makes my 40-150 Pro a 300mm. With the crop factor a 600mm. Excellent image quality.

Works as advertised with no apparent loss of image quality.

I purchased this for use on my Olympus 40-150 f2.8 Pro lens which resides on an Olympus OM-1 body. I can detect no change in acquired focusing speed and the 600mm equivalent focal length produces image quality that is more than satisfactory for my needs.

Use with 100-400 lens - usual light reduction as with any teleconverter

I got this MC-20 2x Teleconverter with my M.Zuiko 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO Lens. While the 150mm on the lens is good, this teleconverters lets me double the focal length with only a little loss of lens aperture. The optics are clean and precise. The teleconverter attaches easily. As an added bonus, this MC-20 Teleconverter works on the M.Zuiko 90mm f/3.5 Macro Lens as well. Now I can take that lens out to 180mm and also increase magnification to 4x! I'm not sure I'm ready to try that yet, but I know it'll work. For now the TC spends almost all of it's time on the 40-150mm.

This teleconverter is the best thing for the 40-150 2.8 pro Lens you can buy. Great sharp pictures.
It's small and compact. Takes up very little room in my bag.
Very happy with this MC-2O

I wasn't sure how much of a difference this would make on my 40-150mm and 100-400mm. But man this is great for just that extra reach without too much added weight to your gear.

It is a nice addition and light weight for those just in case shots that are a little out of reach.

Attaches in two seconds and you're off. Never miss a shot or wish you brought that other lens you left home.

These are typical pictures shot at high shutter speeds with the MC-20 attached to the M.Zuiko 100-400mm zoom lens. The MC-20 takes away 2 f-stops, so I only use it in full sunlight.
