Keep your hands warm and dry even in the harshest conditions with these Heat 2 Softshell Mittens/Gloves from The Heat Company. When you're out in the cold, conserve heat by using the outer mitten, and then when you need to do some work, get a drink, snap a selfie, or perform any task that requires dexterity, just fold the mitten and thumb back to expose your fingers. Magnets hold the folded-back finger and thumb covers out of the way.

Your first layer of protection from the elements is a wind- and water-resistant mitten shell with Thinsulate insulation. The palm is reinforced with soft and durable goatskin which is naturally water and wear resistant. Extra-long knitted cuffs keep heat in and snow or wind out. Loops at the fingers of the glove make it easy to tug off. To find your correct size, measure the circumference of the palm of your hand at its widest point, just below the fingers. This size 7 glove equates to a hand circumference of 5.9-7.1".

This is the only glove maker I have seen that includes loops to remove the gloves. Fingerless gloves are notoriously difficult to remove. The mitten extension is easy to deploy, and stays out of the way with small magnets. just what I was looking for. I have the liners on back order.

Size 9 was too small but 10 fit. Very well designed and manufactured, came literally the next day after ordering. B&H is a great company.

Living in a northern climate, my photography hobby takes me outdoors all winter long, including days at or before 0F. I just got used to having to take my gloves off to set and shoot the camera and then dealing with the pain of the circulation coming slowly back to my fingers in the car. These gloves have helped ease that problem. I haven’t had them out in zero degree weather yet, but I have used them in 10F weather on a pier jutting out into one of the Great Lakes. Lots of waves, lots of splashing and lots of water over my clothes and gloves. The water turned immediately to an ice coating on the gloves but the ability to flip the finger and thumb covers on or off made it easy to stay out shooting longer than I thought possible. Awesome product!

I purchased these for a recent winter photo trip to Yellowstone National Park. Combined with Little Hotties 8-Hour Hand Warmers, they worked perfectly while shooting all day. My tip is to put the warmers in horizontally in the slot - works better than the instructions that come with the gloves.

Although the price is on the high side, it is a good quality product. Worked as expected when the outside temperature was low and need to operate my camera.

These gloves are made so incredibly well. The loops straps to pull them off are genius. The sewn in magnets keep the mitten part and the thumb part pulled back and out of the way so they don't interfere with what you are doing. I needed a good pair of gloves for astronomy that kept my fingers warm when I wasn't using them to make adjustments to the telescope or camera. These are not cheap gloves, but having usable hands easily justifies the cost.

Not overly insulated and restrictive in how they move but plenty of warmth. Very helpful when trying to operate the camera with an option to cover the finger tips in between shooting. Taking them to Iceland next.

Don't even bother with so-called touchscreen gloves. If you want a glove that can offer both warmth AND dexterity, look no further. I've tried countless different kinds of gloves in an effort to find a pair that offers good warmth while maintaining some level of dexterity and offering compatibility with my touchscreen devices and camera operation, and all have failed the test of time up until this point. However, these gloves seem to offer the best of both worlds, and then some. They are very well made and have all the little details you could hope for - fingerless gloves to provide the ultimate in dexterity (including a flip-back thumb which many other gloves fail to include), pull tabs to make it easy to take the gloves off, very strong magnets (which are stitched in nicely so they will stay in place) to hold both the thumb and the mitten in place when folded back, a Velcro tab on the front-side of the thumb flap to keep it securely over your thumb when flipped closed (and sufficient overlap of material to prevent cold from getting in), and an integrated hand warmer pocket inside the mitten flap for added warmth in bitter cold.

The glove material feels great and the goat leather on the palms is very good quality. The gloves are definitely wind-proof and have worked very well to keep my hands nice and warm in windy conditions with temperatures below 20 degrees. Time will tell how well they hold up and how warm they are when the temperatures dip below zero, but I feel fairly confident they will offer more than enough warmth for my needs.
