A: Yes this printer can be used for this. Since it has multple gray cartridges, it will only use the black/gray and not use any colors. There is a mode for this in the printer software driver.

A: Yes the Epson 9900 can use 150ml, 350ml or 700ml ink cartridges.The benefit of using the larger ink is for two reasons. One the ink can cost less per ml and you do not need to change out the ink as often compared to the smaller cartridges.
