  • With simple gain buttons and a power/pair button, the Blink 500 TX is comfortably easy to use. Its advanced technology invisibly handles the complicated tasks such as switching channels to avoid dropouts, leaving you with a streamlined and simple system that requires no menu diving or tedious manual configuration.

  • Blink 500 systems utilize 24-bit / 48 kHz resolution—the same audio standard used worldwide by sound engineers in the film industry—to give you quality sound at a budget-friendly price point.
  • Compared to the built-in microphones on cameras and mobile devices, Blink 500 systems offer considerably improved fidelity and clarity with less noise.
  • Knowing that your subjects may speak at very different volumes, Saramonic outfitted the Blink 500 TX with dedicated gain buttons to allow quick and effortless adjustment of the signal level. You can even turn the volume all the way down to effectively mute the transmitter.

  • The Blink 500 TX features a built-in miniature condenser microphone with an omni pickup pattern that captures clear and natural voice tonality. Thanks to the transmitter's ultracompact housing, you can clip it to clothing, slide it into a shirt pocket, place it on a podium, or hold it in your hand.

  • For maximum visual discretion, use the Blink 500 TX as traditional bodypack transmitter with the supplied lavalier microphone. Just clip the omni lav mic to a collar or lapel, then plug it into the transmitter's 3.5mm input; the transmitter automatically switches to the external microphone so you don't have to bother selecting the input source.
  • The lavalier mic includes a foam windscreen that lessens noise caused by light wind, breaths, and air conditioning systems. For enhanced reduction of stronger wind noise, a furry windshield (a.k.a. windjammer) such as the Saramonic LM-WS can be fitted to the microphone.

  • Whereas typical analog wireless systems are susceptible to interference from TV and radio waves, the Blink 500 digital system avoids that by operating in the 2.4 GHz band, which occupies frequencies beyond those of television, radio transmissions, and UHF wireless microphone systems.
  • Within the 2.4 GHz spectrum, the Blink 500 boasts automatic channel hopping to mitigate noise and dropouts at a line-of-sight distance of up to 164 feet. For optimal performance, environments with limited Wi-Fi / 2.4 GHz traffic and minimal physical obstructions are recommended.

  • Don’t be concerned about licensing or selecting frequencies; the Blink 500 system uses the license-free 2.4 GHz band, so you can go anywhere in the world and have a reliable, fully functional wireless system.

  • Lightweight, ultracompact housing
  • Built-in clip for easy attachment to a belt or clothing
  • Intelligent LED indicators show power, audio level, low-battery level, and charging status
  • Internal lithium-ion battery with 5-hour battery life keeps you going on long shoots or multiple run-and-gun gigs in a day
  • Recharge the battery or power the transmitter via a USB Type-C connection with the included charging cable
  • Use up to two transmitters with each receiver (Blink 500 RX, Blink 500 RXDi, or Blink 500 RXUC)
  • Operate up to 18 systems simultaneously in the same environment

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this USB-C receiver also have a 3.5mm audio output?

A: No, this receiver is USB-C only.

Q: 2. How many ampere should be rated the USB type A charger to charge quickly a Blink 500 TX?

A: 2.1 A will get it done.

Q: 3. Can this be used with the Gopro mic adapter (BH #GO35MA • MFR #AAMIC-001) and or the Media Mod (BH #GOMMH9B • MFR #ADFMD-001)?

A: Yes, the Saramonic Blink 500 B1 Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (2.4 GHz) is compatible with the GoPro Microphone Adapter and Media Mod Case.

Q: 4. Can you set the frequency? I'm concerned if I have two sets of these, they might interfere with each other.

A: They set automatically. You can have up to 18 dual systems in a single area. Having two sets in an area will be without any issue. Just be sure to have the receivers at least 1-2 feet apart if possible for best results. If that is not an option try to have at least 6 inches between them.

Q: 5. How does the receiver attach to a canon rp?

A: The receiver slides right into the shoe mount on top of the camera. If you have the shoe mount in use, you can always get a multi-shoe mount to mount multiple accessories, or because the Blink 500 receiver is so light, you can even clip it to the camera strap.

Q: 6. Does it work with its old handhold microphone, hu9?

A: That, I do not know it's a great little system

Q: 7. does the usb c port on the receiver output audio or is it charge only?

A: the USB-C port is only for charging

Q: 8. Hello I purchased the Blink 500 B1 camera mount system single mic. Question, can I add another mic to this? Also any way to purchase just the lightning adapter?

A: Yes, you can purchase the Blink500TX transmitter and lavalier to add another mic to the system. And yes, you add just the Lightning Receiver as well, that product is the Blink500RXDi. Or you can add both to your system by purchasing the Blink500B3 system.

Q: 9. Can the wireless receiver operate while charging?

A: No. the receiver can not be used while it is charging.

Q: 10. Can i use this as well as my rode mic on the hot shoe?

A: That would depend on which Rode microphone you have, and what you are truly asking in the question. If you were asking if you can plug a Rode microphone into the transmitter: Yes, If you have a Rode lavalier, or even a shotgun microphone that terminates 3.5mm it work with the transmitter. You're asking if you can use your Rode microphone and the Blink 500 system into your camera simultaneously: You will need some kind of mixer, such as the Saramonic SR-PAX1, or the SR-AX100. But keep in mind the SR-AX100 is only for battery powered microphones, it has no pre-amplification. If you want pre-amplification, the Saramonic SR-PAX1 is a much better bet. I hope that helps.

I am really impressed by the innovation of this product at this price point. Rather than try to replicated on the cheap the Shure or Sennheiser wireless systems, this has all the appearance of a new from-the-ground-up product. I needed to have 2 Lavalier microphones wirelessly connected to a small receiver that fits onto the camera hotshot, with a cable connection to the microphone in of the camera (Canon RP since you asked..). Each unit has built-in rechargeable batteries, they charge using a 5V USB C connection, and last more than enough time (hours) before re-charging is needed. This set has two transmitters that feed into the receiver as a single channel (mono) which is fine. Each transmitter has 4 gain settings. They are paired once and for all with their receiver, very easy to do. The camera has a headphone OUT socket, not really needed as the automatic level setting of the camera did a good job even with pauses and outside noise. The transmitters also have a built-in microphone if you do not need the quality and proximity of the Lavalier mikes. Everything was provided in the box, cables and all. Transmission is using 2.4 MHz, this may be an issue in a dense Wi-Fi environment, but I had no problems at home with tens of devices connected.

Only used it twice, but so far they perform better than expected. I'm not into high tech audio yet, so this works perfect for fast and easy audio to add to the videos. The distance is good and even from other rooms I can pick up their voices.

We needed something better than the noisy built-in mic on my DSLR to start producing online content during the pandemic. This kit was the most budget-friendly one we could find that wasn't a $20 eBay gamble. We've used it numerous time so far and have no complaints and haven't had any problems with the connections. There's a bit of background noise in the recordings but that's more my camera's fault (OMD-EM1) than anything else and it cleans up easily using DaVinci Resolve's auto-voice setting. As this set was for work my wife and I might get our own set for doing YouTube videos from home.
