Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does this have a bubble level ?

A: Yes, Benro GX30 Two Series Arca-Type Low Profile Aluminum Ball Head does have a bubble level.

Q: 2. What is the height?

A: As per Benro, the GX25 would measure 3.34 inches high.

Q: 3. Are the GX series compatible with th Benro MeFoto GlobeTrotter Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod?

A: The Benro GX35 Two Series Arca-Type Low Profile Aluminum Ball Head is compatible with the Benro MeFOTO GlobeTrotter Pro Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod. However, the base of the head is wide, and the legs might not fold up as compact as it does with the included head.

Q: 4. what is the diameter of the base of the ball head ? would this to large to fit on a 3 legged thing winston 2 tripod ?

A: Since the base of the Benro GX30 Two Series Arca-Type Low Profile Aluminum Ball Head is 47mm (1.85"), and the top of the 3 Legged Thing Winston 2 Tripod is 40mm, it will work, but there will be a little bit of overhang.

Q: 5. Will the GX25 work with the FLM CP-30 S4 ii tripod legs ?

A: Yes, the Benro GX25 Two Series Arca-Type Low Profile Aluminum Ball Head is compatible with the FLM CP30-S4 II 10X Carbon Fiber Series II Tripod.

Q: 6. Is this product still current ? I can't see it on Benro's website

A: Yes, this is a brand new head.

Q: 7. Is the len hood detachable? Can I use a generic 100mm square filter holder with generic 100m sqaure filter on it? Thanks.

A: The petal-shaped lens hood is built-in, not removable, and not reversible. Unfortunately, this means generic or third-party filter holders won't work. Laowa has a magnetic filter system for the lens coming soon, and it seems that will be the only way to get 4x4" or 4x5.65" size filters to work with the lens.

Q: 8. Will the GX ball head series work on a Manfrotto 190CX tripod? Is there a pin to lock in place on a Manfrotto tripod?

A: Yes the Benro GX35 is compatible with that tripod. The set screw to keep the head from unscrewing when you are panning is dependent of the tripod though, not the head. The Manfrotto MT190CXPRO3 Carbon Fiber Tripod does have that set screw.

Q: 9. Will this head work on a Benro A2580F tripod legs?

A: Yes, as the top of the center column of the (now discontinued) Benro Classic A2580F Aluminum Tripod has both 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 head attachment fitting screw threads, and as the base of the Benro GX30 Two Series Arca-Type Low Profile Aluminum Ball Head has a 3/8"-16" female threaded socket, the head and tripod would be compatible for use with one another.

Q: 10. Are the GX series compatible with the MT190CXPRO4 tripods? Is there a pin to lock the ball head in place? Which GX would be best for a Nikon Z6Ii with heaviest lens of z 70-200mm?

A: Yes, the Benro GX35 is compatible with the MT190CXPRO4 (and any other 3/8"-16 mounting screw tripod). The pin for the ballhead will be on the tripod mounting platform; gentle raise the screw to increase the tension/friction between the tripod and head to secure the head into place. For a Z6ii + 70-200 f/2.8, we recommend either the GX30 or the GX35; the latter of which is better if you foresee getting larger lenses in the future.

I am extremely pleased with the Benro GX35 ball-head. It's a solid performer providing excellent support for my Hasselblad 501CM even when I attach the 250 mm lens. It is easy to use even with gloves in the winter. The operation is quite smooth and I especially like the upper lever that controls the panning function. Anyone looking for a mid-priced ball-head should give this one serious consideration.

I bought this Benro head to replace the one that came with my adventure tripod.
I have severe arthritis in my hands and was looking for a bento head with large knobs, easier to grip.
Another reviewer mentioned the same condition and that's what convinced me.
It works very well! Easy adjustments!

Light weighted and still very sturdy. It has all functions I want.

I was looking for a ballhead that was lighter than my Markins head, and also had a better method for moving / locking the ball. Some heads have two, separate knobs, which I was looking for. But this head doesn't work that way. They've optimized the tension / release so that moving and locking the ball is so easy. The panning control at the top platform is also a nice feature! The ball head, which supports up to 77 lbs, is actually pretty small in person, but I like it a lot.
