I bought a used tripod on BH and this zoom control was crammed into the back of the bag. Thanks! I plugged it into the back of my Canon XH-A1 and it worked like a charm Very convenient when your camera is up on sticks and you don't feel like reaching around for the zoom and on/off button. I don't know how I lived without it now!

I got this lanc control to use on my Sony HVR-HD100U because it was just to much of struggle to zoom from the cam and trying to make pro looking zooms were just plain impossible while moving the tripod. I played with several other lanc controllers at the BH super store and with me having a cash flow problem at the moment. The others were just too much out of my league. They didn't have this one on display (or I didn't see it) but after reading and sifting through the reviews, for the price I figure I'd give it a try, so far I've been plugging it in and it works, I would recommend getting the 522sca Remote Control Coiled Cable by Manfrotto to give you that extra line from cam to the lanc. I haven't come across the issue others spoke about with it not responding, it is a simple record/pause, and zoom. It may not have that little creep that others have when you release the zoom. But with a little practice and sensitivity you can make very good pro looking zooms. It is a throttle design and works well. It's pretty well built and I'm not one that bangs my equipment around because if you don't treat your equipment with some care it won't matter how much you spend you will break it. So far when I'm recording I get a lot of compliments about the quality zooms this lanc makes. It does give you a more professional look as appose to reaching all the way in front of your cam to zoom. So as I always say until I can be in a better financial state to upgrade, I will use this lanc and make the best of what I got. So if your budget is low like mine give this a try and apply some professional practice, I hear pros talking about everybody's cutting into their business well if all equipment was made so easy that everyone can use it, then guess what everyone will be using it

Not many features in this unit when compared to other LANC controllers, however zoom and start/stop are the only ones I normally find of much practical use anyway.I bought one due to the low price compared to the other units available. I bought my 2nd one because of how well the first one performed and I needed another one!I use it primarily on my Steadicam, but I can't imagine using any camera mount without this now. Very solid and dependable.The ability to plug the included cable into 2 different places on the controller with different shaped connectors on the cable makes it really flexible in terms of mounting, and the single sided clamp is very easy to attach to even the largest diameter handle/pipe/mount/grip in seconds.And the ability to switch between LANC and Panasonic is a great feature too, I work with a lot of cameras, and the ability to simply plug into most any small format camera is great. It essentially makes this 2 units in one.I would recommend a small piece of gaffer's tape over the mode switch to make sure you don't accidentally bump it to the other mode mid shoot as happend to me once. - The only problem that resulted from that was how much I missed my beloved controller until I figured what I'd done a little later! Expertise: Professional Camera / Steadicam Operator Problems Encountered: I'd only have 3 minor things I'd change about this unit if I could: - I'd recess the record button a little, I simply have a little ridge of tape around mine now. - I'd make the back of the clamp a little smaller, not that it's ever actually got in the way. - I'd like a small direction switch for the zoom rocker for when I have to mount it in a non-standard position, but that's just preference.Not one actual problem, just a couple of things short of perfect!

I use this zoom controller with a Sony A1U and it provides a good, solid, controllable zoom for the camera. The controller feels solid so I think is should last. The compatibility with Sony and Panasonic is also a plus for any future camera upgrades I may have.

I use this zoom control with my Panasonic HPX 170. I find I can feather the zooms better that with the camera zoom rocker. Well designed and built. I am very pleased with this product.

I have a couple of these that I use on different rigs. Not having to change your grip on the stabilizing rig to use the zoom button on the camera is extremely handy. Well worth the investment.

Seems well built, works very smoothly. Excellent for my XH-A1.

All I wanted was a record button and variable zoom rocker type switch. I didn't need a dozen different bells and whistles just the basics and the Libec ZC-3DV covers that quite nicely thank you very much. Just clamp it on, plug it in and off you go. Nice smooth variable control with the zoom control, has a great feel and the record button is nice and close to top it off. Couldn't ask for anything more

The Libec Zoom Control performs beautifully. Smooth zooms, variable speeds, remote record start and stop - just what I needed to keep my hands from bumping the camera. If your tripod handle is not very long, you might want an extended handle to be really comfortable.

Nice variable speed on the zoom. Easy to set up. Very solid.
