I've been using the 16-80 with both my X-H1 and X-T100. It's a very, very sharp, very clear piece of glass. I'm glad I went for it. I don't hesitate to suggest it for any X-mount camera, but it will make your kit feel a bit front heavy if you use it with one of the smaller, lighter Fuji bodies. If the less expensive Fujis are all you can afford right now, I still recommend the 16-80. It will make all the difference in the world to the quality of your images.

I was hesitant to order this lens because most reviews say the lens is soft at the corners. If you are only going to shoot images of brick walls don’t bother purchasing this lens. For every other type of normal photography I can say the lens is sharp. I also was surprised at how good the bokeh is a f/4 at the 80mm focal length. It’s also a great lens if you are a person who just likes to take one lens with you on hiking trips. I’ve shot with this lens in various situations like landscape, close up and protest marches and all I can say is the lens hasn’t disappointed me yet.

This is a super useful outdoor lens for shooting car shows and the local farmers market. Several times a year it is necessary for me to shoot in the rain. So the weather sealing is essential. The image stabilization is especially impressive. I have consistently captured sharp images at 1/8 second. This allows me to record things that would be impossible without it. The zoom range is just right for all of my outdoor uses.

This is my go-to lens for studio and is the perfect travel lens also. I love the 24-120 focal range for studio work. I own the full frame equivalence of this lens for my Nikon Z bodies as well as for my Sony a7r series bodies. I can achieve almost any look I need without having to constantly change lenses during a session. I was a little skeptical of this lens initially because I had not really heard many people talk about it, as it was considered a kit lens. After shooting with it a bit and getting used to its characteristic, it quickly became one of my most used lenses.

The autofocus is mostly accurate as any missed focus shots could be attributed to user era on my behalf. By adjusting the focusing speeds and tracking in my X-H2, this lens instantly became a contender for my similar Nikon and Sony branded lenses as far as image quality, autofocus and reliability is concerned. The autofocus is fairly quiet and does not pickup in video as long as you use something like a shotgun mic or smaller.

It's compact and lightweight design makes it a perfect match for any fujifilm camera as it balances well on most bodies. Furthermore, it's light weight also makes it great for holding long periods of time without fatiguing your shooting arm and hand, making it an excellent choice for travel and street photography.

This is an excellent lens with many uses and if you are on the fence about getting it, go ahead, I promise you will not be disappointed.

On my XT-3 most of the time. Did the firmware upgrade, but video is not my thing, so I’m not worried about focus wobble. Outstanding OIS. Great zoom range and images. What’s to loose. Get one. Been trading with B&H over 25 yrs. Never a problem

Great daily walkabout lens !

I realy love it.

Ok, was worried about F4- but this lens is incredible- perfect size, fits the XT4 like a glove and covers most everyday shooting- will be my main travel lens- I'll use XPro3 primes for more detail work or the 90F2

I own several Fuji lenses, from the diminutive 15-45 zoom up to the more substantial 55-200 zoom, plus a variety of primes. I also own one of their 18-55 zooms and, frankly, I believe I got a dud. Yes, I bought it new, but from day one the left edge is always out of focus compared to the rest of the frame. I understand from various user reports that problems with the 18-55 is not unusual. So rather than get another 18-55, I decided to grab a used 16-80, F4. Long story short, it's been quite wonderful, a perfect match to my various Fuji bodies -- X-T20, X-H2 and X-T1. I have yet to find any scenario, any setting which yield anything less than exceptional clarity, color balance and stability. 20-20 hindsight: wish I'd bought this amazing lens first!

f/4 results in an excellent compromise on size and weight. In these days of high quality image capability using high ISO settings, f/4 max is hardly a downside for general purpose use, and if you really need low light gathering capabilities or minuscule depth of field, there are perfectly good alternative choices - if you require better specific metrics than this lens can offer, you should be using a fixed focal length lens. In this case, the chosen compromises result in a light and small enough lens that won’t be left at home, but with a significantly more useful zoom range than the 18-55. It’s quickly become my favorite general-purpose lens.
