Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this extend far enough for the BMPCC6K Pro with cage?

A: Typically, you should avoid added weight with a camera cage on the gimbal as it can wear out the motors and/or throw off balance. That being said, the Tilta Extended Quick Release Baseplate for Select DJI Gimbals will sit at the bottom of the Tilta Full Camera Cage for BMPCC 6K Pro/G2/BMPCC 6K (B&H # TITAT11FCCB) while a small portion of the extended baseplate protrudes forward.

Q: 2. Any Ergo rig users, can this work with the Ergo Rig in undersling mode?

A: There are no reports of the 16x9 Kong Quick Release Adapter for Easyrig with 1/4"-20 Eyebolt being used in the manner you described. Because of the specialized design of both the Ergorig and the Easyrig, we recommend not attempting such use.

Q: 3. Is there a corresponding receiver plate that would allow for mounting on a tripod?

A: No, there is currently no available option for mounting this on a tripod.

Q: 4. Whats the official weight limit?

A: An official weight limit is not listed, but that is because this is a product that replaces the original camera hook that comes with your EasyRig. The weight limit will be the same as it was before when using this product, it will just depend on the model of EasyRig you are using.

Q: 5. Would this work with the BMPCC 4k Camera with the full Tilta Cage?

A: Yes

Q: 6. Can this be used on the Easy Rig MiniMax?

A: It is our understanding that the 16x9 Kong Quick Release Adapter for Easyrig with 3/8"-16 Eyebolt can be used with any Easyrig.

Q: 7. Can this plate work with the Ronin S and a Canon C70 because of the bulky handgrip?

A: This baseplate is for the RS2. It will not work with the Ronin S.

Q: 8. Is there a part that would allow us to mount the focus motor and rod clamp to the front of the plate like the original can? This only has the mounting holes on the sides.

A: No there isn't.

Q: 9. Can attach this with flycam basic flowline hook?

A: Unfortunately, there is no direct compatibility between the 16x9 Kong Quick Release Adapter for Easyrig and the Flycam Basic flowline hook.

Q: 10. Can I use this with the FLYCAM Flowline 300N? Can you purchase a second Eyebolt?

A: There should be no issues attaching this to the Flowcine 300.

If you own a 300mm or longer lens, you won't realise it's full potential if you don't support it properly. I shoot mostly wildlife. I use a 500mm lens as my main rig. This gimbal head is the only way to go for wildlife, or for anything else that is a moving subject. It is really amazing! Once you mount and balance your big lens and camera combo that most people complain are too heavy, you won't believe how easy and effortlessly you can smoothly control your setup. Tracking bald eagles becomes as easy as tracking a walking animal! It really is that good!

Having worked my way through 3 previous heads of varying types I eventually splashed out on the Wimberley MkII. I have not regretted it. My only regret is that I didn't buy this first time round. It is vastly superior to any other type of tripod head. I am using it with a D300 and 300mm f2.8 and it works a treat. I am so pleased with it I have splashed out on a Gitzo tripod. The Wimberley MkII doesn't deserve anything less!

Superbly designed. Smooth operation. Works with each of my larger lenses very well. Bought seperate plates for different size lenses thus lessening need to change plates when changing lens. The quick release and anti-twist features are very useful. Would higly recommend for anyone with telephoto or larger types of lenses. Buying through B&H over past two years has proven to be extremely gratifying. Knowledgable assistance, timely mailing, friendliness and cordiality.

I use this on a Canon 400MM lens. Mount holds the the lens securly but heavy.

Best head I have ever owned for long lenses hands down. Holds 600mm rock steady on a Gitzo 1257 tripod, yet moves easily for bird photography. Expensive but worth every cent if you own large glass.

This item works in every respect. It will definitely stand the test of time, but it is however overpriced IMO. I searched long and hard for something cheaper, to no avail. So be it, as I am now a proud owner of something very well built, that won't break from hard use. There is a reassuring feeling of safety for your equipment when the connection is made to this instrument. So my advice is to bite the bullet and purchase this device, as it will serve you well for years to come.

I really very much impressed with head. It is so smooth to handle and verstile and it is perfect for my heavy lence. It is a prestigeus to have it, everybody want to touch and feel it, although it is worth price for the quality.

Use it primarily for wildlife photos. Easy to use, very stable, great for panning. When carrying tripod makes it somewhat top heavy.

Having never used a gimbal head previously, I was amazed at the ease and breadth of motion once I had my 200-400 lens mounted. Definitely made tracking a bird in flight or surfer on a wave very easy. Once the lens was attached and adjusted, the balance was perfect.
