Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How can I produce vignetting (black corners) with this lens on a nikon z30?

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 7.5mm f/2.8 II Fisheye Lens for Nikon Z will not vignette on the Nikon Z30 camera.

Q: 2. What is the field of view in degrees?

A: The TTArtisan 11mm f/2.8 Lens for Sony E has a 180° angle of view diagonally on a full frame sensor.

Q: 3. Is this lens weather sealed?

Q: 4. Can the aperture be controlled by a dead adapter like the FotodioX Pro TLT ROKR Tilt-Shift Adapter for Nikon F Lens to Sony E?

A: The aperture in the IRIX 11mm f/4 Firefly Lens is only controlled electronically. So the Fotodiox tilt/shift adapter would not be able to control the aperture.

Q: 5. Does it co-witness with the iron sights on the Hi-Point 995 carbine?

A: The BSA Optics 30mm Huntsman should co-witness with the iron sight on your Hi- Point 995 carbine. It has fixed focus, and 1/2 windage and elevation adjustments.

Q: 6. Can someone please explain or help me to understand how to read the hyperfocal scale on this lens? I have never had a problem using hyperfocal scales on any of my other lenses, but this one is quite perplexing to me, there are so many values on it.

A: If you are old school and know how to use the hyperfocal scale on manual lenses, then work as you have before. If you wish, you can also use the innovative hyperfocal indication line but really it is meant for others. That is because, ever since auto focus lenses came into use, they have mostly come without manual aperture scales since they had no place for the scales to be applied. Therefore a generation of photographers has grown up not knowing what they are for or how to use them. With Irix's hyperfocal line, the new user determines what aperture they are using, moves the focus ring to line up the aperture number on the Irix hyperfocal line with the lens focus mark. Then they look to the aperture numbers on the traditional scale to see the hyperfocal distance or the area that is in acceptable focus. To old users it is not necessary, to new users it is very helpful.

Q: 7. What is the difference between Firefly lens vs Blackstone lens?

A: Irix 11mm f/4 Firefly and Blackstone share the same specifications. The difference is in the build quality. The blackstone is stronger made of durable aluminum and magnesium alloy. The firefly lens is made of a lightweight ABS plastic exterior construction.

Q: 8. can this be used with a d780 and nikon d500?

A: Yes, the TTArtisan 11mm f/2.8 Lens for Nikon F can mount on to both Nikon D780 and D500 DSLR Camera bodies and can be used manually as it is intended.

Q: 9. What is the difference between the FireFly and Blackstone iterations of this lens? What do you get with the extra money for the Blackstone? Thank you!

A: The Blackstone has a metal body and engraved numbers. The Blackstone is heavier as well. Optically they are the same.

Q: 10. Is this lens compatible with the Nikon FE2?

A: The TTArtisan 11mm f/2.8 Lens for Nikon F is compatible with the Nikon FE2 SLR Camera.

Great image quality, easy to mount, the thumb tab on the magnifier dial is a nice touch. Price is significant for some folks and may be a barrier to entry.

I used it to mount a 6x24 with 44mm objective on one of my AR platform coyote guns. Allowed mounting far enough forward to not interfere with the charging handle and provide perfect eye relief. Rock solid with 6 screws per ring.

Great mount at an affordable price. Maintanes zero under recoil and does not add a significant amount of weight. The mount can be safely torqued to 65 inch pounds at the mounting rail.
