Very sturdy and fluid motion (as opposed to some more expensive panning bases I tried). If one is to be incredibly picky then it could be a tad lighter but apart from that it is virtually faultless. Its diameter marries perfectly with a range of other tripod attachments I possess. An indisputable winner for the price. 5

I got this so I can do panoramic shots with my ball head that didn't have an independent panning function. SO much better than buying a new head. Unless you have a huge tripod this will work fine for size. It's threaded for standard tripod mounting screws. 5

I purchased this so I could place it between my tripod and an equatorial wedge for an astronomy DSLR mount. I wanted to be able to pivot the wedge to point to the celestial pole without moving my tripod. Additionally, it allows me to move my tripod so the legs provide more stability where I need it (based on the wedge angle and location). This does just that for me. 5

This is a very nice high quality base, and transforms my tripod with a smaller Studioball ballhead (without a panning facility) in to a fully function setup. I use it with an Acratech levelling base. 5

I bought this panning base to use for my video applications mostly with my Panasonic FZ1000 but also with my other slr cameras should I choose to use them for video. It is pretty thin in height, has a locking knob and is very smooth. A good investment to add to your tripod with most any type head. 5
