Audix Dn4 Dante Aes67 Integrated Microphone System Interface
- Product Code: ga68534

The DN4 Dante AES67 Integrated Microphone System Interface from Audix is the heart of a microphone system that offers audio performance through Ethernet networks. It can be used to provide microphone functions including on-off contact closure and LED status indicators for meeting rooms, convention centers, educational facilities, and houses of worship through a single Cat 5 - Cat 7 cable with RJ45 connections.
The DN4 interface features four ports for Audix RJ45-equipped single-element microphones. The configuration eliminates wiring errors and accelerates installation. In addition, all Audix RJ45-equipped microphone gain structures are optimized for their intended placement, which provides quality audio at the DSP. The result is true plug-and-play installation.
Furthermore, the interface is equipped with two 5V logic outputs per port and source/sink capability for LEDs that are controlled by network-connected DSPs. Low-pass and high-pass filter settings are available for each audio channel as well as eight selectable gain levels with all settings configurable via software.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. is this for a home studio use?
A: not a home studio, but a distributed network in a church. they sent audio from their main mixing console to other rooms/locations
Q: 2. What is the difference between this M1250B microphone and the M1255B microphone?
A: The Audix M1250B and M1255B are effectively the same however the M1255B is more sensitive for distant miking purposes, whereas the M1250B is intended for close mic positions.
Q: 3. Will this work with any mic with a mini-XLR connector, or only with Audix? Thanks.
A: Yes, the Audix MicroBoom 84 Carbon Fiber 84" Boom can be use with any microphone that has a mini-XLR connector. The MicroBoom 84 has a mini-XLR female connector on the top to attach the mic and terminates with a mini-XLR male connector at the bottom. The MicroBoom attaches to any microphone stand and can be used horizontally or vertically.
Q: 4. Does the included power supply for the DT20 have switchable American and UK plugs?
A: Yes, the Allen & Heath DT20-X Dante Input Interface with Power Supply comes with switchable American and UK plugs.
Q: 5. Does this (and the other Models) record post fader for individual tracks to the SD card? The manual mentions a "post record switch" and "When this switch is on, signals from after the MAIN fader are recorded to the SD card." That's all the info in the manual about this feature. I need to know if this switch allows recording of each channel post fader to the SD card.
A: The Tascam Model 12 Integrated Production Suite Mixer/Recorder/USB Interface appears to standardly record "pre-fader" signals to the SD card. This indicates that the signal at the input source is being recorded before it is affected further down the signal chain by EQ and individual fader level settings. There are ways to change this, such as the "POST REC Switch" you mention, which would indicate a post-fader recording of each channels "mix" level signal. The manual also mentions the ability to select the positions that recording signals are sent from each channel, including the ability to send Pre or Post Compression and Post EQ.
Q: 6. IS this USB 2.0 or 1.1 ?
A: The Audix USB12 requires a USB2.0 connection or higher for proper operation.
Q: 7. Will the DT Preamp Control app be updated to support making changes to units enrolled in a Dante Domain (DDM/Director)?
A: The Allen & Heath DT168 16x8 Dante/AES67 Audio I/O Expander (BH # ALAHDT168) may have future updates that have not yet been announced. Please navigate to Allen-Heath.com to view all available DT Preamp control updates.
Q: 8. What is the A/D & D/A on this Unit? Also, what is the max Mic Pre Gain? Specs look confusing...seems to be +50db which is not enough for a SM7b (needs 60db) without a Cloudlifter
A: Tascam does not disclose which converters they are using. And yes, you will need to use a cloudlifter when using an SM7B.
Q: 9. Can you use this as the main switch to connect 4 more devices to the "network"? I only have 5 machines that need Dante.
A: Yes the RME Digiface Dante can connect to 4 devices.
Q: 10. Does the Model 12 have USB delay for syncing to video like the Mixcast does?
A: Yes, firmware version 1.20 adds dual Audio Delay for both the USB and Main outputs of the Tascam Model 12 Integrated Production Suite Mixer/Recorder/USB Interface.
