Designed for electric guitar players and bassists, the Boss SY-1 is a pedal intended to give you many classic synth tones in a compact pedal. Thanks to the Type and Variation knobs, you can instantly transform your sound into a classic pad, lead, synth bass, bell organ, or rhythmic synth pattern; 121 different sounds are at your disposal.

Depth and Tone/Rate knobs are on hand to tailor your sound further. Function of the Tone/Rate knob changes depending on the effect you've selected—you can even change pitch on certain notes.

The pedal can easily fit into most stompbox setups. With built-in send and return jacks, the SY-1 lets you blend your other pedals in a parallel chain with the synth effect. You can even use this parallel path to output synth tone to its own, dedicated destination, such as a separate amplifier. Independent Direct/Effect knobs allow you to achieve any desired blend between processed and unprocessed signal.

With a buffered bypass for preserving your signal over long cable runs, the BOSS SY-1 can be powered with a single 9V battery or an AC adapter. A battery is included. An AC adapter is available separately.

The SY-1 can be used with any guitar or bass and a standard 1/4" cable, providing an easy, plug-and-play experience. Thanks to custom BOSS DSP, the SY-1 offers latency-free performance, letting you to play freely and organically without altering your normal technique.

The SY-1 offers a numbers of ways to make your synth performances more dynamic and expressive. Pressing and holding the pedal's prominent switch sustains the last-played synth sound, allowing you to jam with your regular guitar tone on a sonic bed of your previous synth playing. You can also connect an external footswitch for tap tempo and octave-shift effects, or plug in an expression pedal for continuous Tone/Rate control.

A: No, the METROVAC DataVac Electric Duster 500 is not recommended for use to clean the dust off of a speaker driver. The force of the air may be too strong and could permanently damage the speaker. Instead, use a soft brush or a vacuum hose with a soft brush attachment to remove the dust. You could also try to carefully use a can of compressed air in short bursts from a slight distance to avoid damage from the air pressure, but the soft brush is probably the safest method.

Q: 4. Is one allowed to connect Boss BR-80 to a guitar amplifier, and how to do it? Via line out? Is it the way to monitor the recordings etc. (besides having the earphones)? Or is it better to connect it to a home hi fi stereo set and how?

A: Connect the Boss MICRO BR BR-80 to the amp via its line input and monitor via the BR-80's Headphone out with headphones or connect powered speakers or a home AV receiver to its LINE output.

A: Hello,The MICRO BR BR-80 can be used for playback with an amp or PA. It has one 3.5mm headphone output which you could use with an adaptor for a PA or Amp.

A: No, the Shure GLXD6+ Dual-Band Wireless Guitar Pedal Receiver cannot be used with the Shure GLXD1 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter. Components from the GLXD+ series are not backwards compatible with the original GLXD series components.
