The AGM 500 FOV 1x19mm f/1.26 Lens Upgrade Kit can help you improve your situational awareness while reducing the need to keep your head on a swivel, which can cause neck strain during prolonged operations. The lens kit consists of a matched eyepiece and objective lens that take your PVS-14 NVG's field of view from a constricted 40° to a spacious 51°, eliminating the "soda straw" view the standard lens system provides. The 1x19mm f/1.26 objective lens has a close focus distance of under 10" so you can perform any task while wearing them, and the eyepiece features a winged eyecup for improved usability plus a wide exit pupil and long eye relief.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How do I get the copylight onto the holder that slides onto the horizontal bars? It appears the round piece should slide all the way into the round section on the edge of the copylight and then the knob secures it, but I can't get it to go past the edge of the inside hole (if that makes any sense). Thanks for your help.

A: If you are still having an assembly problem, try to completely remove the tightening nob on horizontal bar, that may give you the clearance you need. If all else fails, try getting Tech Support at Beseler You may replacement parts. Their Number is 800-237-3537

Q: 2. Can CF bulbs be used in these light fixtures? I don't want hot bulbs.

A: While compact fluorescent lamps can sometimes have the same threading as a tungsten flood lamp would, the base on the fluorescent lamps are much larger and would not fit the narrow opening on these sockets.

Q: 3. What is the Figure of Merit on these? The resolution x signal-noise ratio?

A: This is AGM's spec sheet https://www.agmglobalvision.com/image/catalog/product-pdf-doc/1614675534_AGM_PVS-14_Datasheet_v3_NW.pdf

Q: 4. What is the lens weight

A: 1.07 lb / 485 g

Q: 5. What types of bulbs work well or are recommended with the Beseler CS-14 Copystand Kit?

A: Suggested bulbs are shown in the Accessories tab.

Q: 6. Minimum Elevation9.5 (241.3 mm) Is that from the screw? Is that .../ I want to use it with a macro lens. Not sure of these numbers

A: Yes, I believe it is the distance from the table to the camera mounting screw. I checked mine - it's closer to 8.75 table to screw (mine was purchased June-2014).

Q: 7. IS this lens good in low light situation ?

A: I would not classify this lens as a good low light lens. Regarding zoom lenses, an aperture of f/2.8 or faster would be considered a good low light lens.

Q: 8. I can't tell if this is a white or green phosphor tube?

A: The AGM PVS-14 Night Vision Monocular (Gen 2+, Level 2) has a NL2 - Gen 2+ “Level 2” green phosphor tube.

Q: 9. I intend on using this for rare book photography. Do the lights in this kit provide even lighting?

A: I use this kit for photographing moth and butterfly specimens. Since the specimens are pinned, they sit about an inch above the base of the background. I've had an issue with shadows and have had to bring in external lamps to eliminate the shadows. As long as your subject is flat on the base, you shouldn't have too much of an issue. It is convenient that the kit allows the light arms to move around, so you can tweak them to make the lighting just right.

Q: 10. Can US permanent residents purchase these kinds of night vision?

A: B&H can sell and ship this item to any person with a billing and shipping address within the USA.

Covid-19 caused us to look for alternative ways to stay viable. This lens is helping us dramatically with new found real estate jobs. We initially tried the Sigma Art 18-35mm with the Nikon Z6 and the Z mount. That was a no go as we had no clearance on our Ronin-SC for real estate video. As always, B&H was great with the return and we purchased the NIKKOR 14-30. It fits our needs perfectly and is a dream of a lens to work with!

I know people complain about the f4, but I have had no problems using it in low light with the Z7. It compliments my 24-70 f4 and the other lens' that are prime f 1.8

A question was asked if there was COMA at f4, 14mm. This photo shows no distortion at the edge of the frame...not a great shot but it shows the optic quality...what is cool are the three tracking satellites and the aircraft

Of course I watched a million YouTube videos before I decided to purchase this lens. I am extremely happy with the lens. The f/4 is not limiting whatsoever. The zoom range covers just what I was looking for. B&H got this to me super fast. I am very pleased with the lens and B&H.

Initially I was hesitant to order the 14-30mm f/4 S because I was thinking about waiting for the 14-24 f/2.8 S. I am glad I purchased this lens instead. The refurbished copy I received was outstanding. The lens is very sharp in the center and good to excellent everywhere else. Neither distortion nor vignetting are issues after RAW conversion using DxO. The control ring has been useful for changing the aperture setting quickly. While shooting with a second camera, the collapsible lens design has helped protect the lens and reduce the camera+lens size (attached to my hip clamp). I thought my Nikon AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8 was great but I like this one even better. It is a keeper!

Compared to the 14-24 f/2.8 S, it's much more compact, lighter, less expensive and has a 30mm if I need a normal FOV without swapping lenses. It's nice I can share thread in filters with my 24-70 f/2.8 S. It's at least as sharp as my 20mm f/1.8 G. I'm using this mostly on hikes and bike rides, 70% for stills and 30% for video, so size and weight are definitely considerations. I haven't yet missed the faster aperture. There is a little more vignetting than I expected in certain circumstances, but otherwise I've been very pleased with the lens.

I didn't think I would use such a wide angle lens much, but have been trying it out a lot and loving it a lot.

As an event photographer I value the image quality, lightweight design for hours of use and rugged build. Loosing a stop of light hasn't been an issue so no need for 2.8.
