Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can you use this film for any type of film camera?

A: As long as that camera is designed to use 120 film, yes it will. You can also use it in cameras that use 620 film if you do some trimming of the spool or respool it onto a 620 spool. It will not work in a camera that shoots 135/35mm film however.

Q: 2. Will this work in a Konica t3 and If so will I need different film for different lighting or will the 400 be okay in bright sun (Arizona)Thanks!

A: This film would be 120 format so it would not be compatible with your Konica T3 which accept 35mm format film. You could use ISO 400 film if you are shooting in various lighting conditions. However, if you're only shooting in bright sunlight most of the time, you would be better off with a film such as Kodak Professional Portra 160 Color Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) B&H # KOP16036 which is best suited for those conditions. Please see the image below for reference.

Q: 3. Has anyone using this film had success pushing or pulling this film? If so, by what number of stops? Thanks.

A: Portra 400 is really amazing as it has about a 7 stop latitude. 4 over and 3 under. It has Kodak's movie film Vision3 technology in it. Its made to cover about every situation. I think its best overexposed 1-2 stops. But also pushes quite well. Remember, pushing color film only increases contrast not light. The scene still has to be lit.

Q: 4. How many exposures could I get with one roll of this film if I was using a Nikon FM-10?

A: This film is not compatible with 35mm cameras, but rather medium format. I suggest Kodak TX 135-36 Tri-X Pan Black & White Print Film, which will give you 36 exposures: http://bhpho.to/1m9bwkW

Q: 5. Would this film work with an Ansco Shur Shot? The inside of the camera says For best result use Ansco 120 film . Also would it work in bright sunlight? (Southern California)

A: Yes it will fit. Get Portra 160 for bright sunlight.

Q: 6. when is the expire date?

A: Its usually about 2 years from when you get it. B&H is always great about expiration.

Q: 7. Can you use this film with a Kodak Junior Six-20? I was told 120 film can be used with it. And if so, how many exposures could I get per roll with this film using that camera? Thanks!

A: The Kodak Junior Six-20 unfortunately will not be able to use 120 format film. This particular camera uses 620 format film.

Q: 8. whats the expiration date?

A: Kodak does not provide expiration date on it's Kodak 8 x 10" Portra 400 Color Film (10 Sheets).

Q: 9. How many exposures per one roll of the 120 Professional Portra 400 Color Negative Film? Shooting from a Hasselblad and no exposure count is specified in the box of film that I have.

A: With a Hasselblad you can get up to 12 exposures per roll of 120 film.

Q: 10. Hi, has anyone who got it shipped internationaly and scanned with xray had any problems with exposure?

A: The film will not be affected during the shipping process.

This is a great, general purpose, 400ASA, colour film. It's reasonably saturated, but without losing subtlety or accurate colour rendition, and it will still render skin tones and other shades well. The grain seems fine, too. I've used it for photo courses where I need to shoot medium format, hand held, and enlarge to larger sizes.

As it gets harder and harder to find large format film, it's a huge relief that B&H always has it ... for the lowest price around. Keep it up!

My first roll was pushed to 1600 and it was beautiful.
