Heliopan 62mm Circular Polarizer Filter

Heliopan 62mm Circular Polarizer Filter

$310.74 $379.10

The Heliopan 62mm Circular Polarizer Filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it supports full use of a camera's autofocus and auto exposure functions.

The front and rear surfaces of the filter both feature a single anti-reflection coating. Each coating helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, they offer protection to the filter substrate while helping to keep the glass clean for longer than uncoated glass.

This Heliopan filter is constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. It features a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface.

Arrange and filter directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light allowing for the absorption of much of the light.

Lessens haze in distant landscapes and provides more saturated, vivid colors.

Strongest effect when used at a 90° from the sun.

Single coatings on both the front and rear offer protection to the glass and help to improve light transmission and image quality.

Constructed from Schott glass for optical clarity.

Brass filter ring helps to prevent jamming and provides additional strength.

Dual threading with 62mm front filter threads permits combining with other filters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there an adapter so the 112 mm circular polarizer can be used on other lenses, such as 77 mm?

A: Unfortunately, a step down ring from 112-77mm is not currently offered.

Q: 2. What is the recommended cleaning for this polarizer?

A: You may use a product such as the Pancro Professional Lens Cleaner (4 oz), B&H # PAN001 and a Sensei Microfiber Lens Cleaning Cloth (Gray), B&H # SECCMF77G to clean this filter. https://bhpho.to/2Vlp07b https://bhpho.to/2MkTd27

Q: 3. Does this have front end filter threads such that a Lee adaptor can be put on?

A: This has front end threads

Q: 4. I don't stack filters often but will be need to with a protective UV because of need to add & remove quickly without removing a protective filter in a harsh environment- any experience with vignettes & this filter with this at focal lengths 20-24 mm?

A: Camera: Nikon d750Lens: Nikon 20mm f/1.8, Nikon 24-120mm f/4.0Stacked filters: Nikon NC 77mm + Nikon 77mm Cicular PolarizerResult: Noticeable vignetting. DXO PhotoLab compensate automatically at NEF level (based on individual lens profile) about 90% of vignetting.

Q: 5. Can anyone tell me how thick this filter is? I'm trying to compare it to other slim filters.

A: Including the screw thread it is about 8mm thick.

Q: 6. I have a Nikon AF-S 12-24mm F4. Does it viginette at 12mm? Will original hood still fit with it on?

A: No, the filter will not Vignette and the original hood will still fit.

Q: 7. Is the .3 stop light loss number in the specifications accurate?

A: I suspect that there is some semantics involved. However, I find the in my terms the factor is 1.3. By this I mean for example: holding the shutter speed constant, I get a reading of f9 without the filter, with the filter on and adjusted for maximum effect it will require a aperture of f5.6 for an equivalent exposure. I was mislead by the point three as well, but it is still better than the 2.5 or a bit more that conventional filters of this type yield.Hope this helps.

Q: 8. What is the difference with HD Nano MK II?, which one is better?

A: The Hoya 82mm HD3 Circular Polarizer Filter has 16 layers of nano multi-coating, while the Hoya HD Nano MK II has 32 layers of nano multi-coating.

Q: 9. Will this fit Nikon Coolpix P1000?

A: Yes it will fit.

Q: 10. Hoya 82mm HD3 Circular Polarizer Filter and Hoya 82mm EVO Antistatic Circular Polarizer Filter. Which one is better and why? Why HD3 so expensive? Is the photos will be different?

A: The HD3 has harder coatings, and uses a higher quality polarization film.

This filter is amazing; it is made of thin glass and has excellent coating. It makes the sky more blue everybody knows that. Perhaps a little unknown is that you can make the flowers truly sparkle with rich colors. Highly recommended for all serious photoigraphers.

This is my frist polarizer filter. Looks good, and is thin considering that this filter is two rings in one. One ring screws to the lens. The other ring holds the glass in place and rotates in the ring which screws to the lens. Both rings together are about 3/16 thick. Rotation is smooth. I was thinking about buying a case for the filter but read in another review that it came with a nice case. The plastic case is just big enough not to get lost in the camera bag and should protect the filter very well. All I know about polarizers is from the use of sun glasses. There is a big difference in how well they work. I'm sure there's a big difference in how well polarizers for camera lenses work too. I bought this filter because I don't know much about them. I feel comfortable that I will get quailty, and good value for the money with Nikon products.
