The 67mm Standard Hot Mirror Filters from Tiffen reflects much of the infrared light that can contaminate your digital image. Some digital still cameras can have increased sensitivity to infrared light that may cause color rendition problems. The Tiffen Standard Hot Mirror filter is designed to remedy this problem by reflecting most infrared light.

Tiffen's ColorCore glass is produced through a process that entails permanently laminating the filter material in between two pieces of optical glass that are ground flat to tolerances of a ten-thousandth of an inch, then mounting them in precision aluminum rings.

Prevents excessive infrared filtration from reaching the digital sensor of your camera

Helps provides a truer digital image

Tiffen's ColorCore glass is sealed between two optical glass sheets. In this way, Tiffen can better control the various densities of their filters and thereby create more exact degrees of filtration. This process makes for greater accuracy of color as opposed to glass that is simply dyed and become subject to deviation during the dye process

Tiffen, a leader in the filter industry, proudly makes its filters in the USA and backs up its products with a solid 10-year warranty

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this filter include an Antistatic Coating?

A: no

Q: 2. Reviews say this filter is a lint/dust magnet. How best to clean it?

A: The Sensei DOC-CK Deluxe Optics Care and Cleaning Kit, BH # SEDOCCK would offer the best options for cleaning this Hoya filter or any of your lenses. https://bhpho.to/3UzaJ4p

Q: 3. Will this lens work with a Canon 16-35 mm Ultra Wide Angle Zoom Lens & will I still be able to attached my lens hood over it ?

A: I am Nikonian, but since B&H asked me to, here my Input anyway: If your 16-35mm lens has 82mm diameter for filters, so it will work. Consult your lens manual. I cannot answer your second question as I do not know the zoom.

Q: 4. Is the filter ring made of brass or aluminum?

A: The ZEISS UV and POL filter housings are made from aluminum.

Q: 5. I recently purchased a Nikon D7100. What kind of results, if any, can I expect if I put one of these filters on it?

A: You may not get the expected results! Most cameras would not give you the effect unless you convert the camera, which will be permanent and expensive too! There are some old models which do not have built in ir cancellation mechanisms. Those are the ones which can generate ir effects.

Q: 6. For my Sony 18-105mm F4 lens. Would you guys recommend that I get the Zeiss 72mm UV filter or the Sony 72mm MC filter? I'm leaning towards the Sony brand for the continuity of having the same brand but not sure if both filters are exactly the same in design. I own a Sony 35mm F1.8 and a Sony 49mm MC filter andthe filter fits my lens like a glove.

A: Just to add to the previous comment to make it clearer: The are the same - just branding difference.

Q: 7. Will this filter work on a Fuji XE 2?

A: No it will not Infrared Filters are not made for digital cameras , all digital cameras have IR blocking filter and this filter blocks the other visible light

Q: 8. Is the filter ring deep enough to accommodate the RX1 clip-on lens cap?

A: You'll be able to put a lens cap on with this filter attached.

Q: 9. will this filter work with the canon 6d with a 24-105L lens?

A: Yes it will. It is 100% compatible.

Q: 10. will this work on sony alpha cameras? i heard you need to modify the camera in order for this to work? I have a7s and a6500

A: I have not tried it on the camera.I have heard that you need to modify the filters on the sensor so that it only sees infrared light. The filter is very dark to the normal eye, but the film has no problem receiving the infrared. you would think that no light is getting through. Good like!
