Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the included PowerPanel software automatically shut down connected PCs in the event of a power failure?

A: Yes, it can. Accord to Cyber Power's website, "connect your UPS via USB or serial cable to your computer or storage device and install PowerPanel® software to automate a graceful shutdown when there’s a power outage. PowerPanel will trigger the operating system to shutdown, save all open files, and help prevent data corruption or data loss."

Q: 2. Will this be a good UPS for the Buffalo TeraStation 16TB WS5020 4-Bay NAS Server (4 x 4TB)?

A: Hello Lynnea, A quick look at the specifications showed that the PR1000LCD unit would work just fine for that NAS. If you'd like to discuss more detail or need assistance with product selection, please reach out to our sales team at 877-297-6937 and we'd be happy to assist.

Q: 3. Do you sell the hardwired input box accessory for this UPS?

A: The APC Smart-UPS SRT1500XLA Battery Backup & Surge Protector BH #APSRT1500XLA does not have the option for hardwired input.

Q: 4. Does this unit have an internal fan? Are rack mounting ears included?

A: Rack mounting ears are included. This model does not have a fan and is passively cooled.

Q: 5. Could this unit supply enough power for a CPAP breathing device. If so, for how long? Does it have a standard plug in portal so that I could plug in my device to this power supply?. This unit would give me the ability to breath during a black out. Please advise. Thanks.

A: You should consult the manufacturer of your breathing devise for this. I am an electronic engineering technician and to service or work on any medical equipment takes a special licensing. Medical equipment is extremely finicky and your life could depend on it, so don't take any advise form the internet; you never know who is answering you. Only the manufacturer of your breathing devise can properly advise you for back up, go to them and get what they tell you need.

Q: 6. I want to hook up to survillence system to keep powered up when losing utility power. I assume this will do the trick?

A: Absolutely will be fine. Most surveillance systems draw very little power, and the near perfect sine-wave output is great for video equipment that would otherwise be susceptible to electronic noise (ie. spurious lines in the video, etc). However, this unit can only keep your surveillance system running for a limited amount of time, and you can determine the amount of time by visiting the APC website and using their UPS sizing tool to help determine about how much time your system will stay powered. And a sidenote... if you are using a PC-based system to record the surveillance data, then the amount of time will be substantially reduced due to the extra power needs of PC itself, so make sure that you include the wattage of the power supply in the PC when determining your power needs. If this 1440VA (about 1050watts) will only keep your PC-based surveillance system powered for about 10-mins, then you might want to consider a larger UPS unit, or one that can accept additional battery packs to extend the power timespan.

Q: 7. What are the batteries made out of? Can I put it in a rack and check it on an airplane? Thanks.

A: Battery Type: Sealed lead acid. Please check with your airline's carry-on and checked luggage regulations.

Q: 8. Are you able to use this unit with a digital printer?

A: Hello Barbara, this will depend if the digital printer in question is a laser printer. We do NOT recommending using Cyberpower UPS's with laser printers. The power demands of these devices will overload and possibly damage the unit. Thank you for submitting your question!

Q: 9. Are there holes in the back of the case that would allow me to hang it on the wall behind my TV?

A: Yes. I have it hanging on the wall off the floor under my desk and behind the desktop computer tower. Helps keep the wire mess a bit neater

Q: 10. Is a 4ms delay adequate to provide uninterrupted power to the OWC ThunderBay 8 128TB 8-Bay Thunderbolt 3 RAID 5 Array?

A: Yes, 4ms would be considered a lower than average transfer time and would be suitable for most devices.
