The Arri Softbank D3 Three-Light Kit was designed with modern, light-sensitive digital media in mind, so you can accomplish even more than you might think with the 950 total watts in this package. Two of Arri's most popular Fresnel lights form the core of this complete lighting outfit: the Arri 150W (two included) is a small Fresnel with great performance and rugged construction, with a 2" (50 mm) low expansion, borosilicate Fresnel lens producing a soft, even field of light. The 650W Fresnel features a 4.3" (110 mm) lens, also providing an even field of light with (of course) more light. A Chimera 16 x 22" softbox is included (perfect for interviews and soft light in tight spaces), as well as barndoors, filter frames, light stands, bulbs, a ceiling scissor clamp to hang a fixture from a drop ceiling, and a hard compact wheeled carrying case for storage and transport. This kit is equipped for 220V AC operation.

Q: 1. What kind of power do these require? Can the be plugged into/powered by a regular outlet?

A: Each of these lights can work on a standard 15 amp circuit through an Edison type wall outlet.

Q: 4. can i upgrade my bulbs to 220v on these units?

A: These lights can accept bulbs for use in a 220v environment which can be purchased separately. For the 650 Fresnel, you can use the Sylvania/Osram FRL (650W/230V). The 300 Fresnel can use the GE FSL Lamp (300W/230V). Lastly, the 150 Fresnel can use the Ushio JCV Lamp (200W/230V). Please see the images below for reference.

Q: 5. Does this Model ARRI 650 Plus (Black Model L1.79405.A) come with an Edison 3 prong ground plug?

A: Yes. US, 3 pronged. It is exactly what you would expect

Q: 6. Can you change the color temperature of these lights? If not do you have a suggestion for similarly powered lights where you can change the color temperature? For tungsten lights if you change the white balance to cancel the yellow tones does it produce high quality, clean and non yellowish footage?

A: No the following units are not bi-color units. The following item has a color temperature of 3200K.

Q: 7. Does this come with a speed ring for the Chimera?

A: The speed ring is mounted on the 750 fixture. The chimera only works with the 750 in this kit.

Q: 8. How do I attach the Chimera to the adaptor? It doesn't make sense! Send tutorials- please!

A: Yes, that is a good kit and is good for travel. The case is very strong for under the plane.What many do when traveling by plane is take the bulbs out and hand carry them.
