Of course some high definition quality is going to be sacrificed, but that's expected. When attached to my HF100 it works great. And much needed. It works as advertised and to those who complain about zooming issues, what do you think is the sole purpose of this lens? Wide angle. Not zoom.

Nice wide angle lens for shoonting indoors, big groups (choir, football teams, etc.) and if you take off the front part it turns into a macro lens. It comes with 5 adapter rings. It fits also on my old Sony (ugh).

I use this for up close interviews with people. It was surprisingly lightweight and easy to install. Great quality.

Often filming in very small rooms but wanting to get wider angles...this lens offers an economical way to accomplish that. Sure there may be better glass out there...but at this price point it is a good value.

I just got this lens to add a little more to the shot when I'm in a tight area, and it works. I seen a lot of complaints about this lens, and wonder why do people think they should get the same results from a lens that costs or less as much? all I can say is you have to learn it's weakness and strengths and stay within them. I use this on my hdr1000u and it gives me about what I expected from a lens at this price, so until I get the $$ to get the lens specially designed for my cam, I'm gonna work this lil baby at its fullest.

I bought this lens to help me make video reviews of apartments. This task it performs very well. I also discovered that the lens would fit my still digital camera (What a bonus) so I can use it to update the pictures on our web site!!

Used with my Panasonic GSPV180. It provides a wider coverage for indoor and landscape shoots. Macro is terrific for my flowers and plants.

The lens works extremely well, although the large angle can cause some headaches. Adding on any filters without stepping them up to a larger size will cause the filters to be seen in the image. Also, if you want to use a lens hood, be aware that any 46mm lens hood will be seen in the shot. Besides these minor issues, I've been extremely happy with the purchase and impressed with the footage I've been getting. I am currently using the lens on a Canon VIXIA HF10.

For the price, I wasn't expecting a lot... but WOW what a great value for the money and a must have for anyone that plans to shoot indoors. You will be amazed at how much more you pick up with this lens on your average camcorder. I picked it up with the VIXIA HG-20 AVCHD HDD CAMCORDER. I have to say every time I go to use this lens I get a huge smile on my face knowing I'll be getting exactly the coverage I need. If you want professional quality, get a pro camera with a pro lens. For everyone else, this will do just fine!
