Q: 1. What is the difference between this one and the older version that was recently discontinued ?

A: The only difference between the older (now discontinued) Elinchrom Rotalux Softbox Octa (53 ), B&H # ELSBRJO53, and the current Elinchrom Rotalux Octabox (135cm / 53 ), B&H # EL26647, is the original softbox included the Elinchrom speedring which was only compatible with Elinchrom strobes. The current softbox does not include a speedring. As such, you must purchase the speedring separately, but Elinchrom manufactures speedrings for multiple brands which may all use the above softbox. Otherwise, the softboxes are the same.

Q: 2. Does this ship with two different bags, a round and a flat storgae bag ? Thanks.

A: The Elinchrom Rotalux Octabox (100 cm / 39") comes with one case.

Q: 3. Is their a Speed ring made to fit a Dynalite SH2000 Flash Head?

A: The Rotalux speedrings are available also for Profoto, Alien Bee, Bowens, Broncolor, Hensel and Comet. As far as I know.

Q: 4. Can you mount this as a bounce umbrella?

A: This is a softbox. It cannot be mounted as a umbrella.

Q: 5. Hi would this speed ring work with the normal Rotalux 175cm (69") to make it indirect? If yes, then does it have a problem with lights since normal rotalux is not as deep as the indirect rotalux?

A: This softbox does not come with a speedring. You will need to buy the type that matches your lights needs.

Q: 7. I have the 175cm/69" rotalux (not deep). Will this adapter work for reversing the head in this softbox? Stephen, is this the setup you have?

A: The Elinchrom Speedring for Rotalux Deep Octa Indirect 59" / 150 cm should fit into the Elinchrom Rotalux Octabox (175cm / 69"). Depending on the size of the strobe, it might stick out a little and prevent you from using the front diffuser.

Q: 8. How do i mount this to Broncolor siros? i know the adapters can be mounted on regular softboxes but how do i mount Siros to this one.

A: The Elinchrom Speedring for Rotalux Deep Octa Indirect 59" / 150 cm is only for Elinchrom mount lights and does not work on a Broncolor Sirors light. And that speedring is only for the Rotalux Deep Octa Indirect 59" / 150 cm. A: Not aware of any such product made by Elinchrom, Perhaps they meant the Deflector plates which is listed in the accessories on this item.

Q: 10. How can I use this mount with Profoto lights?

A: The Elinchrom Speedring for Rotalux Deep Octa Indirect 59" / 150 cm is only for specific Elinchrom lights. It does not work with Profoto lights.

Super easy to assemble and fold up! There's a lot of great YouTube videos showing how to put together. The rods basically snap in place and it's super quick. The materials feel hardy and quality and the soft light looks amazing and is perfect portrait photography and videography. 5

I've owned an Elinchrom Rotalux Deep Octabox (100cm/39) for several years. It's great but the beam is fairly narrow. So I got the one which is not deep. The beam is a lot wider. Now I can choose between them to get the perfect coverage. 5

Once its initially built setting it up and breaking it down is a breeze. Easily one of my favorite modifiers to use for product, food, and portraits. With the inner and outer diffusion its super versatile. 5

Wonderful product, the ability to have a giant soft box and a beauty dish like effect is simply superb. The light is just beautiful, it wraps around very nicely. perfect for kids and juniors very beautiful soft light that only elinchrom can deliver. It is easy to assemble, light to carry to your on location shots or keep it in your studio, home, garage or wherever you would use it. 5
