The EDID-Mirror-2P from Smart AVI is an EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) emulator that prevents Windows 7, XP and Linux from auto configuring your displays if your computer is started up with the displays disconnected or turned off. It provides a constant signal to the computer, whether the display is present or not to ensure the configuration isn't lost.

Q: 3. Would this be suitable for use with a turntable with built-in pre amp?

A: Yes it would be if the turntable offers a Line level output via RCA.

Q: 4. what is the thread size of screw?

A: This is a 1/4-20 thread mounting bracket.

Q: 5. I have an Xfinity cable box connected to a Sony H800x tv that is connected to a Sonos Arc. I have a lip synch issue and cannot get it corrected. I spent a lot of time with Sony and Sonos but nothing worked. Will this device solve the problem? Does the device require power?

A: This does not solve syncing issues.

Q: 6. I have a DVI-D PC monitor. When I use an HDMI to DVI cable, audio is not passed because the monitor's EDID tells the device it does not support audio. Can I use this to force audio to my monitor? Maybe spoof the input device to think its a regular HDMI monitor so it passes audio. I need to pass audio because I'd like to use an HDMI audio extractor in between.

A: As others have said, DVI doesn't support audio output. This will not work for you unfortunately.

A: Yes it will, if your Kramer will work with HDCP protected content and pass EDID.

Q: 10. How long does it take to record EDID? I only get double green flash, no rapid flashing as stated in directions, only two green flashes no matter what I do. I've done this for a few minutes and nothing happens. I m recording edid for my TV. Does it matter what HDMI jack it's put into?

A: A few seconds. The double flash is indicating EDID acquisition. Double check all of your connections.

This works great as a reference viewer when taping yourself alone (selfie mode), or if you want to see the framing of what is being recorded while you are in front of the camera. And this is especially helpful if your camera's lcd screen doesn't swivel around. This is the case with a lot of the Sony's or other brands that have screens that just tilt up. I find this accessory a great pairing with my Sony A73 with a screen that only flips up. The mirror is big enough to keep an eye on the framing and what is happening in the background. Fits right on the cold shoe of the camera and works just as advertised. Another nice feature is this has cold shoes on all three sides so I can now add even more accessories attachments, like a small light or small mic, which is great. Didn't realize my camera didn't have a flip out screen, got this because it was cheap. Surprisingly good reflection and the range of mirror position was plenty for my camera. I almost prefer it to a dedicated flip out screen. It only works on LCD screens that flip up like a waist level finder. 5
