This is the most ideal on-camera light I have ever worked with. It will also make a great hair light. It is VERY bright for it's small size. I have attached a picture of it at full brightness in a darkened room so you can get a practical idea of the lux throw. You can purchase a diffusion filter directly from Dracast for this light (recommended - no need for filter frame). As you can see, it can be powered using Sony L series batteries. You can also power the light using a D-Tap cable and external battery for days of use (I am using a V-Mount adapter plus Sony NP-F970's). Dracast is awesome, not just their products but their service. I have been in touch with them, having several questions and concerns over the last week, and they are lightning fast in response time and I am 110% satisfied with their proposed solutions. I not only purchased this light, but the 500LED and 1000LED Bi-color models. Hot lights and gels, good riddance!

As a working photographer, I'm always using extra cash to try out new products that I think might really help my process. If the product works out, it'll only help maximize my profits in the long run. This is one of those products that has worked out spectacularly! The Dracast LED160 On-Camera light is not only very easy to use and portable, but it helps deliver amazing results. The aluminum housing feels like it's going to take a lot of abuse, which is good, because I put my gear through the wringer sometimes. It's compact, so it's always going to be able to find a home in my gear bag, and honestly, I wouldn't dream of not using it after using it for just a short while already. The light output is just right and the distance the light is thrown is very respectable and effective. This product is really great. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat, but I hope I never have to because I'd hate to be without it for even a day of work.

It's been banged around in an overhead bin of an airplane, in the back of my crew car, out in the weather, and in the Oval Office. I have not had one problem with this light and would recommend this light to anyone. It comes with a D cable to connect to the camera or Anton Bauer battery plate. I use it for off the shoulder interviews inside the Capitol, I use it to light up my reporter for live shots in the field, I use it as a backlight with the included power supply I even used it inside the White House. I can dial in the color temperature that I want to use, I can adjust the brightness. The Dracast LED 160 is so far the best on-board camera light that I've used so far in my 30 years in the tv news business.

I am a social event videographer. I used this LED light for the first time and it worked great especially with my ability to control the amount of light and light color.

Just got my LED160 daylight version and tested. The color temperature is 5600K spot on and the CRI is 95. this is really the purest light that I've even seen. Dont be fooled by the cheap immitators * Buy the dracast ligth from B&H and you will be glad that you did.

I use this light on top of my Sony XDCAM 700. What a powerful and versatile product! I cover national network news in DC, therefore a lot of politics; i.e talking heads. This light is bright enough to do off the shoulder live shots, interviews, etc. I can match the color temperature of the room with the adjustable temperature dial and the intensity of light as well. I also use this light as a backlight to match my other Dracast interview lights. I was very pleased that the kit came with a large NP Sony battery, a D tap cable to power the light from the XDCAM, a DC car battery charger, AC power supply and a small ball mount. It all fits in a nylon case, though I just keep the 160 mounted on my camera. The aluminum case is very durable. So far I have not encountered any problems.
