The 8x56 Conquest HD Binoculars from ZEISS are designed to provide optimal performance in all light and weather conditions. Its performance comes from a combination of extra-low dispersion (ED) glass and fully multi-coated lenses and prisms. The ED glass corrects for chromatic aberration across the entire field of view, ensuring true color transmission with little to no distortion. Taking full advantage of the large 56mm objectives, the lenses have ZEISS' T* anti-reflective coatings, which minimize light loss and maximize the amount of light getting through the optics. The prisms are phase corrected to increase contrast. These optical coatings and glass produce a binocular that performs well, especially in low-light conditions, with bright high-contrast images and true color transmission across the entire 57° apparent angle of view.

Designed for rigorous use in the field, it is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed for water and fogproof performance year-round in all weather conditions. The large center focus wheel is accessible with either hand and easy to use, even with gloves. Rubber armoring on the outside of the body provides a safe and secure non-slip grip in wet or cold conditions and offers protection against drops and impacts. The click-stop twist-up eyecups let you customize your eye relief whether you wear glasses or not. If you're going to be glassing for prolonged periods, the Conquest HD is tripod mountable with an optional adapter.

  • 8x magnification
  • Large 56mm objective lenses boost light-gathering ability for improved views in low light, produce a wide exit pupil to limit vignetting, and present a generous field of view
  • Compact Abbe-Koenig roof prism design produces a less folded light path than conventional roof prisms to decrease spherical and chromatic aberration
  • Fully multi-coated with ZEISS' T* anti-reflective coatings for more than 90% light transmission
  • Extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements eliminate chromatic aberration across the entire field of view with little to no distortion
  • Phase-corrected prisms produce high-contrast images with true color saturation
  • LotuTec moisture/abrasion-resistant coating causes moisture, including snow and rain, to bead up and roll off the lens surface
  • 57° apparent angle of view approaches wide angle to present the user with an immersive observational experience
  • 375-foot field of view at 1000 yards

  • Closed-bridge configuration provides a solid and steady platform for the internal focusing mechanism
  • Large slip-resistant center focus wheel is easy to manipulate, even in cold and wet weather or while wearing gloves

  • 57-74mm interpupillary adjustment range
  • Tripod mountable with optional adapter
  • Click-stop twist-up eyecups for customized eye relief with or without eyewear
  • Long 18mm eye relief improves viewing comfort and reduces eyestrain, especially during long glassing sessions
  • Extremely wide 7 mm exit pupil ensures complete coverage as pupils fully open and dilate in low light to keep the entire scene in view

  • Lightweight and durable aluminum-alloy chassis
  • Nitrogen filled, waterproof to 200mbar of pressure and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme changes in temperature and environmental conditions
  • Rubber-armored exterior provides impact protection and non-slip grip
  • Wide -4 to 145°F (-20 to 63°C) operating temperature range

Had a pair of Eagle Optics 10 x 42, which were stolen. The Zeiss provides a crisper/brighter image for me, especially with glasses, and they are lighter around the neck - a consideration for a long day of birdwatching.

Great clarity. Love the close focus. A bit on the heavy side.

I purchased these binos in July and took them to South Africa in August 2018.  Ive also had an opportunity to use them in the mid-west.

The 10x42 is the right magnification for both locations.  I was concerned about the weight but it is a non issue.  I wear them at my side with the strap across my chest/back.

The Zeiss Conquests have a crisp, clear image that was good in Africa during the day and in the mid-west close to dark.

The only issue with these binoculars are the lens caps.  Others have mentioned them too.  The caps are flexible and dont stay in place.  Zeiss should have made them as a solid disc with a rubber surround, but they didnt.

I would still buy again as this is a minor design issue.  The main purpose of the bino is to look through, not the caps.

I have already used them for groundhog hunting a few times.

They are extremely clear and make the early morning and late evening times much brighter. By far the most expensive pair of binoculars I have owned, and I believe they are worth every penny!

These binoculars literally took my birding to a new level. I previously used the Nikon Monarchs but these Nikons present images that are much crisper and cleaner. They make identifying birds easier for me

Good luck! Happy Birding!
