The 10x56 Conquest HD Binoculars from ZEISS are designed to provide optimal performance in all light and weather conditions. Its performance comes from a combination of extra-low dispersion (ED) glass and fully multi-coated lenses and prisms. The ED glass corrects for chromatic aberration across the entire field of view, ensuring true color transmission with little to no distortion. Taking full advantage of the large 56mm objectives, the lenses have ZEISS' T* anti-reflective coatings, which minimize light loss and maximize the amount of light getting through the optics. The prisms are phase corrected to increase contrast. These optical coatings and glass produce a binocular that performs well, especially in low-light conditions, with bright high-contrast images and true color transmission across the entire 66° apparent angle of view.

Designed for rigorous use in the field, it is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed for water and fogproof performance year-round in all weather conditions. The large center focus wheel is accessible with either hand and easy to use, even with gloves. Rubber armoring on the outside of the body provides a safe and secure non-slip grip in wet or cold conditions and offers protection against drops and impacts. The click-stop twist-up eyecups let you customize your eye relief whether you wear glasses or not. If you're going to be glassing for prolonged periods, the Conquest HD is tripod mountable with an optional adapter.

  • 10x magnification
  • Large 56mm objective lenses boost light-gathering ability for improved views in low light, produce a wide exit pupil to limit vignetting, and present a generous field of view
  • Compact Abbe-Koenig roof prism design produces a less folded light path than conventional roof prisms to decrease spherical and chromatic aberration
  • Fully multi-coated with ZEISS' T* anti-reflective coatings for more than 90% light transmission
  • Extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements eliminate chromatic aberration across the entire field of view with little to no distortion
  • Phase-corrected prisms produce high-contrast images with true color saturation
  • LotuTec moisture/abrasion-resistant coating causes moisture, including snow and rain, to bead up and roll off the lens surface
  • Wide 66° apparent angle of view limits the appearance of distracting hand shake that is common when holding high-power optics such as this
  • 345-foot field of view at 1000 yards

  • Closed-bridge configuration provides a solid and steady platform for the internal focusing mechanism
  • Large slip-resistant center focus wheel is easy to manipulate, even in cold and wet weather or while wearing gloves
  • ±4 right-eye dioptric adjustment enables tack-sharp focus even for those who wear corrective eyewear
  • 57-74mm interpupillary adjustment range
  • Tripod mountable with optional adapter
  • Click-stop twist-up eyecups for customized eye relief with or without eyewear
  • Long 18mm eye relief improves viewing comfort and reduces eyestrain, especially during long glassing sessions
  • Wide 5.6 mm exit pupil ensures complete coverage as pupils fully open and dilate in low light to keep the entire scene in view

  • Lightweight and durable aluminum-alloy chassis
  • Nitrogen filled, waterproof to 200mbar of pressure and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme changes in temperature and environmental conditions
  • Rubber-armored exterior provides impact protection and non-slip grip
  • Wide -4 to 145°F (-20 to 63°C) operating temperature range

I had a couple of inexpensive binoculars before and I decided to buy a more professional pair. There are more expensive binoculars on the market but for me, this one is very special. It has sound construction and impeccable optics. A real keeper. A special nod of thanks to B&H for replacing this pair because of a broken plastic part. They sent out the new one as soon as I filled out the form. And the new pair is perfect.

Great company, B&H and also Zeiss.

These binoculars just exude quality in every way. They feel good in your hands, adjust well for users with and without glasses, the focus knob is buttery smooth, and the optical clarity, especially in low light conditions, is nothing short of amazing. Couple that with the exceptional price and service offered by the folks at B&H, and you've got yourself a winning combination... Highly recommended!

I use these while hiking the nature trails. The Zeiss build feels balanced and comfortable in your hands. The focus wheel is very smooth and the eye cups have several levels of adjustment. The lens caps for the exit pupils are great but the ones for the front objectives fall out easily as if Zeiss almost intends that you don't use them so I don't. The case that Zeiss provides is great and with the lens caps removed access is very quick and easy! Everyone I have handed these binoculars to have commented they would like a pair. I think the price for these is fair unlike some of the other brands out there charging two and almost three times as much!

Since I have so many floaters in my left eye and my vision is 20/30 corrected, I decided to buy a 10x42 binocular--Carl Zeiss Conquest HD. My Swarovski bins are 8.5x42 so it wasn't a big jump in magnification but it helps. These feel heavy when you pick them up but when you have them up to your eyes, they don't feel as heavy. Must be the way they're balanced. And they are actually a few grams lighter than my Swarovski EL 8.5x42. The focus wheel doesn't require much turning to get the binocular in focus which is an advantage over my Swarovskis. I wish the ocular lens caps were made with a hinge so that they can be used with the binocular set at my interpupillary distance. These caps are joined with a rubber strip and I have to open out the binocular to use them.

This review is not so much about a binocular but about a company and how customer service and the length Zeiss went to stand behind their product.
Back in the 90’s I purchased a pair of Zeiss 10x42’s. I can’t remember the model name at the time but they were around 1000 U.S.dollars .and have since been replaced by the Conquest HD’s.
Over the years they had always appeared a little distorted and out of focus but just didn’t know much about binoculars and really had nothing to compare them to at the time.
Finally last year (2022) I sent them back to the factory for a cleaning and physical.
Zeiss contacted me immediately and said these binoculars were defective and even after over 25 years after purchase, I received a new pair of Conquest HD’s about 2 weeks later.
Let stories like this help you determine what company you want to go with when considering your next pair of binoculars.
Thank You Zeiss !

Been wanting a really nice pair of binocs for years and finally Leica and Zeiss are making a more affordable option. I felt like the Leica were brighter when in the store and now that I am home, I really love these. Going from 8 x 42 to 10 x 42 was a great choice for me. Most of what I do is wildlife viewing and studying terrain. These are perfect for my needs. I will be getting a cross-back strap because they are a little heavy (but worth it for the view).
