The CATV Channelized Audio/Video Modulator, Channel 53, from Blonder Tongue is an all-solid-state audio/video modulator that provides a modulated visual and aural RF carrier output on one specific CATV channel. The unit modulates the audio and video inputs and provides the requested RF CATV channel output for use in a CATV, MATV or SMATV system. The modulator accepts standard (sync negative) polarity video at a 0.7-2.5V peak to peak level from sources such as a TV camera, video tape recorder, TV demodulator or satellite receiver.

The modulator features a +55dBmV RF output level, and an IF SAW filtering for adjacent channel operation. All aeronautical channels are offset positive with a tolerance of ±5kHz as required by FCC 21006. All level controls are located on the front panel. The RF level control provides up to +55dBmV output. The video modulator control sets the depth of modulation for 87.5% over an input video level range from 0.7VP/p to 2.5VP/p. An audio modulation control permits adjustment for ±25kHz peak deviation of the aural carrier.

A: The Rotalux speedrings are available also for Profoto, Alien Bee, Bowens, Broncolor, Hensel and Comet. As far as I know.

Q: 6. What is the difference between this one and the older version that was recently discontinued ?

A: The only difference between the older (now discontinued) Elinchrom Rotalux Softbox Octa (53 ), B&H # ELSBRJO53, and the current Elinchrom Rotalux Octabox (135cm / 53 ), B&H # EL26647, is the original softbox included the Elinchrom speedring which was only compatible with Elinchrom strobes. The current softbox does not include a speedring. As such, you must purchase the speedring separately, but Elinchrom manufactures speedrings for multiple brands which may all use the above softbox. Otherwise, the softboxes are the same.

Q: 7. Does this model switch to walking mode if used handheld?

A: The Garmin Drive 53 and Traffic GPS Navigator does not automatically switch to Pedestrian Mode when used handheld, however directions can be customized for walking.

Q: 8. I'm told this is a "Strobe" light but can it be used as a constant for video production?

A: This is a softbox which fits Elinchrom flash heads and it is not rated for use with continuous lights.

A: Yes, you are able to use your standard coax cable and convert the signal to RJ-45.

I bought this unit about 3 weeks ago. I hate using my phone as a GPS on trips and I had an older Garmin that I broke the port on so I couldn't update the maps anymore. I'm really impressed with the unit and would recommend it without hesitation. The only thing I didn't like compared to my old Garmin...is that my old Garmin was a beefier material and seemed a little more heavy duty. That said...if you take care of it properly....that shouldn't be an issue at all. 5

I am using this bidirectional clamp, in combination with the Sunwayfoto DPG-80D Universal Double Dovetail, to replace the clunky and hard-to-use mounting mechanism, on a Glidecam XR-1000. It radically speeds up the process of balancing a camcorder on the Glidecam, and makes it possible to dismount and remount the camera quickly and avoid having to spend half an hour finessing the balance all over again. It's a huge improvement. 5

I plugged the unit into my 2023 Honda Accord and navigated from Elgin, SC to Hendersonville, NC as directed by the “53” as directed and knew where I was all during the trip. It showed my location, speed and direction of travel. A great little basic navigation system. 5

I bought this product to build a panoramic nodal slide, in combination with a 12 inch rail, and they serves my need pretty well. Before buying this product I did an extensive research on the nodal slide for panoramic photo. What I have determined is that the nodal slide has some limitations: (1) The clamp is fixed to the slide, so you can't change the direction of the clamp. (2) You can't adjust the distance frome the clamp to the front end of the slide. This was very important to me as I wanted to use one slide with all of my lenses including the WA ones. Besides, this combination (rail + bidirectional clamp) is much cheaper than a nodal slide. I can see that this product is very solid and precise. 5
