I waited a long time to buy my first slider. (This one). I opted for this one not just because the price is really good compared with other brands, but because support 30 pounds wish the more pretty one from GVM didn’t support. Wish allow me to set my rigged camera (BMPCC4k with canon 100-400 L) in a tripod head. The slider is really smooth, video looks fantastic. I never tried any other motorized slider before, so it does has a little of noise on the motor. Anything that should be picked from your mic if you are doing an interview. I suggest to have it at least 8’ from your mic but you can make your own test for that. I was afraid to have difficulties learning how to operate but it took me around 10 minutes to figure it out just reading the small instructions paper that came with it, so avoid those confusing tutorials on YouTube. Construction is solid and weight is perfect, but legs are plastic, so be careful with them . Anyway I plan to use it in a tripod most of the time. I got 3 years of warranty so I’m relieve on that side. Something I should like, is to have the option to release the motor and use it manually, so I can take a little more of it. Anyway you can remove the belt and try it. (I didn’t try it yet). It came with an extra belt wish is nice from GVM to have it included. Yes I do recommend this slider 100%.

Strong solid construction that will support a video camera and gives a smooth slider motion. I had a problem with the controller, but tech support sent me a replacement immediately and everything works great.

Full of PRO features you might not expect on a smaller slider. The controller has timer settings, continuous repeat, set up so you mark off the range of movement, and camera exposure control. You might not expect the quality build of this unit considering the price! Quality throughout and designed with a number of nifty mounting features for all sorts of shooting occasions. This comes with a zipper carry bag that protects the whole rig while you are moving. Even though it's not a huge rig you'll find that with a good eye and your imagination this will take you far. I'm using it primarily for video accent footage and the smooth moves that you can get with the GVM are so much more pro than handheld. Ok, I like it. Your mileage may vary but I'm guessing not by much. I recommend a ball head for maximum shot flexibility. When you are tracking uphill you'll need it. In Peace.. Bob

This slider is very smooth. I usually have a very small POV camera on it, but have run a large ENG camera on it also and it can handle both just fine. The auto loop is great, as we just set it in the morning and let it roll all day through our church services. GVM support is great too. We had a damaged part that was our fault and not a defect on their end, and they still promptly replaced the part for me. Very satisfied!!

I went with this Aluminum slider instead of the Carbon Fiber version as I had read and watched some reviews saying this is a little more steady and also can be closer to the ground when using it's attached legs. The extra weight is not an issue as I'm already lugging a 60 or more pounds of gear. I've used it on two interview shoots on a single tripod and it worked great. As others have wrote, the controller is super basic and low-fi but it is efficient with it's battery use and once you learn it, there really is no need for a slick interface. I like how you can manage the speed of the slider in single percentage points. I found that I like the look of it on auto mode at about 75% speed.
The case is really great. I rarely care for the cases manufactures include with their products but this one is the exception. I leave my tripod plate mounted to the slider and just pack it a way in the case.

Great product and smooth transitions.

I purchased this for a shoot and when I received it, the motor was faulty, causing jitters and not allowing my camera to focus while in movement. I contacted GVM and Ken helped me diagnose the problem. When we determined the motor was faulty, he shipped me a complete replacement within a few days. The new one works great and I'm excited to use it on my upcoming shoot. Thank you GVM!
