    Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be mounted on a Canon 5D mark 3 without a grip?

A: I have Nikon and Sons gear so not totally familuar with Canon but as long as there is a centralized standard tripod socket on your Canon the mini CB should mount well. I have an older mini-CB and now the newer model. The newer is more forgiving - so should fit you fine.

Q: 2. Will this mount fit on my Sony A6500 ??

A: It will fit but the camera is very small and the bracket is large so will be awkward to use. You also won't have where to hold well in vertical mode. I would recommend buying a battery grip like this one and placing it on the camera. With this grip it will allow you to better use that bracket on the camera. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1335221-REG/vello_bg_s5_battery_grip_for_sony.html

Q: 3. Has anyone put a small ball & head on the bracket where the hotshoe is? I aim to put a wireless Cactus RF60x, and I think a small Slik Ball & Head would give a better experience.

A: ive seen that set up on flikr looks real nice. slik ballhead speedlight with gary fong modifier...

Q: 4. Is there a left-handed version of this bracket? I would prefer to have the flash on the left, so I can adjust it as needed while taking photos with my right hand. I love the small profile this bracket creates.

A: Pretty sure right-side is the only version made. I don't remember seeing any other options when I was in the market for a bracket. You make an interesting point about not having to take your hand off the grip to change the flash - but this bracket mounts the flash very close to the right side of the lens and I believe that it was on the left side of the lens, one would have issues accessing the zoom and focus rings.

Q: 5. How can I mount this to a Manfrotto Heavy Duty Gimbal? I'm using the shoe it comes with and a Canon 100-400mm lens. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/554099-REG/Manfrotto_393_393_Heavy_Duty_Gimbal.html

A: Unfortunately, the Custom Brackets Tilt Head Flash Mount is not compatible with the Manfrotto Heavy Duty Gimbal. It could only be used with gimbal heads which offer an Arca type quick release plate.

Q: 6. Would this work with the Fotopro E6H Gimbal? I'm using an Olympus 300 Pro lens that has a foot built in

A: Yes this can work when using the Fotopro E6H Gimbal depending on the plate being used.

Q: 7. Is this good for Vertical and Horizontal shooting?

A: The Custom Brackets CB Mini-RC Camera Flash Bracket will work well for both horizontal and vertical orientation of the camera.

Q: 8. I shoot with D750 and primarily 24-120mm f/4G, 50mm 1.8g, 85mm 1.8g along with SB-800 flash/cord. Does this cause any flare? If you bounce the flash upwards on horizontal, do you experience shadows? Also do you experience shadows in vertical position? I use the regular Custom Brackets but want something smaller simply to avoid shadows.

A: I use the Mini-RC with a 24-70 lens. My subjects are usually 6 to 8 feet away.I don't get any flare when using the bracket. But I do get thin hard shadows behind my subjects on any walls or structures behind my subject.

Q: 9. What is the diameter of the rod?

A: The approximate diameter of the ALZO Suspended Drop Ceiling Video Pico Mini Projector Mount BH #AL1238 is about 1.5 inches.

    Q: 10. Will this work with a Fuji xt2?

A: Drew, did you ever purchase this item and did it work well on your XT2?I'm considering it for use with an XPRO1, XPRO2, and X100T. Anyone else have experience in using it on these bodies?

At the moment I use it with my GH5 and the nissin air system so that my speedlite is not weighing down my hot shoe
