Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this compatible with Viewsonic 32" 15lbs vx3211-2k-mhd?

A: Yes. The ViewSonic VX3211-2K-mhd 32" 16:9 IPS Monitor BH #VIX32112KMHD is fully compatible with the Mount-It! Desktop Stand for Displays up to 32" BH #MOMI1757

Q: 2. Can I fit my 49 key Midi controller On base and Mpc x drum machine on second tier?

A: That can work for you, and the second tier is adjustable.

Q: 3. What accessories are needed to record and also to use while performing? Buying this for my son and I read all the reviews, but don't understand what folks are recommending. I appreciate any help. Thanks, Kate

A: The Moog Theremini has a built in speaker that can be heard in the room and for practicing. It also has a headphone output. For connecting to a practice amplifier, or mixer for performing, or an audio interface for recording, it also has a left and right line output on the back. So you can use B&H # KOI3010 to connect it to either of those sources.

Q: 4. Does this rotate counter-clockwise for vertical orientation?

A: The Mount-It! Desktop Stand for Displays up to 32" BH #MOMI1757 rotates 360° to accomodate both vertical or horizontal orientations.

Q: 5. Can it be adjusted high enough for playing while standing ?

A: This keyboard stand is meant for playing while sitting or standing. Height adjustments range from 26.3" (67 cm) to 33.4" (85 cm.)

Q: 6. What is the minimum and maximum depth of the second tier?

A: I use the second tier for my Korg Krome which is 12 1/2 deep. The whole tier itself is 16 deep. The stand as a whole is fairly steady - not quite as sturdy as my last Z-stand but much better than any X-stands of which I am not a fan. I highly recommend this stand. It Laizzes les bon temps rouler!

Q: 7. whats the width of the 2nd and third tier?

A: The Tier depth on this QuikLok QL-723 Triple Tier Keyboard Stand would be 2nd & 3rd Tiers: 16.5'' - 42 cm

Q: 8. Can this run off a battery or does it always have to be plugged in?

A: No. Must have ac power for the included power supply.

Q: 9. I am fabricating a cart. What is the actual width of this device?

A: The dimensions for Matthews Combo Stand Door Rack are 28.5 x 2.1/6 x 1.5 inches. The spacing on the hooks are 28mm wide internally.

Q: 10. Is it possible to adjust the heights on 1st tier ?

A: Yes, sort of, there are 3 holes about an inch apart and you can choose which is best to put the tightening screw through and that will bring the upper keyboard closer or further from the lower keyboard. So it is a bit adjustable. It was improtant for us since our keyboard player is only 5' 4 and sings so we did not want her hidden behind the upper keyboard. We lowered it very close to the top of the lower keyboard. Worked great.

I've always been interested in Theremins, so I decided to get the Theremini. I've read many articles stating how difficult they are to play, I'm glad this unit is very newbie friendly. You can control how the pitch antenna reads your hand position. You can choose to lock the pitch detection to a scale, with not much pitch drift in between notes, all the way up to the authentic Theremin experience of being able to glide through the notes in a scale. Set up and calibration of the unit was easy, the user manual is superbly written. There was a glitch in upgrading the firmware, even after following the directions to a T, but turning off the unit and turning it back on put me at the next step of the update process. It's like the Theremini is made for dummies like me! There is an iPad editor, and now a Mac/PC editor. Just plug in a mini USB cable, and you're set. I've not been able to DL the Mac version yet, so I'm just speaking about the iPad version. There are only a few patch locations on board, so the editor is essential if you want to load in your own sounds. The sound engine is based off of the Animoog, so it sounds very nice. There is a built in speaker so you can listen to what you are playing right away. Also there are built in FX, which help sweeten up the sound and makes this useful for sound design. There is a CV output, but I don't own any other equipment with CV inputs, so I cannot speak to the usefulmess of this. The unit is built nice, but it is VERY light, and I would be afraid to drop it for fear of breaking.

Wow, what can I say. Ever since this thing shot out of the sky onto my front porch, leaving a flaming streak that could be seen from miles away, I haven't been able to step away from it. My girlfriend and I had our first fight over who got to play it next. At first we were concerned that it might hatch a small alien baby that would then eat and/or spawn with our cat but its friendly, warm, vintage tone quickly lulled us into a celestial trance of security. In all seriousness though... having never touched a theremin before, I can't imagine having a positive experience had I ordered any other model. Playing it traditionally is HARD, but all of the extra effects and features Moog threw into this shiny white escape pod make it a purely blissful experience from the moment you power it on. Some things I wish it had: - ability to be powered through USB - a little more weight to it (lighter than expected, slightly cheap feel) - ability to save patches natively (you need the app) - a way to modify settings more fluently, in a live setting Leave it to Moog to take a sound that's been around since the 20's and take it to the next 5 levels. Can't wait to start implementing this into my live performance. Highly recommended, for any musical talent levels.

This is a very versatile instrument. I had not had it two weeks yet when I used it to premiere a new work which I wrote, featuring particular settings of the instrument and my strengths as a new user of it. The premiere was very successful, and I anticipate being inspired to create more original music on it as I get more familiar and proficient. A word to the wise, however: note that outputs are line-level and it will not go directly into an instrument amplifier. Get the necessary transformers up-front if you plan to plug into an amp on location.

Killer sounds and amazing options. You can instantly create wild, otherwordly sounds. MIDI allows you too control, embellish other tones. CV gives you access to sound and you can download the editor to save tones on your PC/MAC. It takes a bit of practice to really milk melodies but w/pitch correction and scale modes - you can still be creating in a flash.

Great product and a great package deal.  The mic stand is not great but fine for using with the Theremini.  Arrived quickly with all items packaged perfectly.

I really like the Theremini. I've had it for a couple of weeks and use it to improvise along with rhythms and melodies that I compose. The different synth sounds it can make are an added extra.

This is a great instrument. The autopitch makes it much easier to adapt to than the classic theremin but it can be used in that mode as well. It's also really nice to look at with those clean curves.

Another quality moog instrument. The choice of voices adds to the fun and the capability to choose scale, root note and amount of pitch correction makes it playable out of the box, and allows the player to hone their technique without frustration. Internal speaker makes it fun and available to play without much set up. It could have been housed in a simple box, but instead it is in a spaceship housing that is theremin appropriate. I ordered mine in the winter after seeing reviews from NAMM, and it's been worth the wait.

I ordered the performance package for the Moog Theremini, which includes a gig bag, stand and Moog amp on the phone, and everything was in stock except the amp (backordered). But when the (four) packages arrived, the amp was there, too! As a result I was able to perform with new instrument the very next weekend. Moog packed this product with so many features that it's like playing a complex synthesizer hands-free!
