Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Could I use this with my Meade 125 etc?

A: If your telescope has a 1.25 eyepiece opening then this eyepiece will work. To determine if your scope does I will need to know the exact Meade Model that you have.

Q: 2. How will this TV 32 mm plossl work in a Celestron C5 spotting scope?

A: The Celestron C5 127mm f/10 50x Spotting Scope (OTA Only) BH #CEC5SB • MFR #52291 came with a 25mm eyepiece The Tele Vue Plossl 32mm Eyepiece (1.25") BH #TEEPL32P • MFR #EPL-32.0 is a upgrade eyepiece becaus og better glass and coatings on the elements

Q: 3. Is it advisable to use a barlow lense with Televue eyepieces?

A: This is a fairly high powered Eyepiece. I would only go with a Barlow if you had a Scope with a large Objective around 8", and up.

Q: 4. I'm considering purchasing a TeleVue 90-Degree Everbrite 2 Mirror Diagonal for my Celestron 8 HD OTA. Do I need the TeleVue Schmidt Cassegrain Adapter functionality to connect the two?

A: Yes, you will need the adapter. You can go with the long or short SCT adapter. I use the short adapter with my 8 and the long with my 12 SCT.

Q: 5. What I feel that needs to be better explained about eyepieces and focal lengths as in 6mm or 25mm is that the opening is tiny for 6 mm as compared with 25mm that is wider . The lower the focal length the difficult it gets to train your eye throughthe opening due to its tiny opening. My child experience with my first kid telescope that came with 6mm and 25mm eyepieces told me that 25mm is more enjoyable to use despite lower magnification than the higher magnifying 6mm which is so restrictive in the opening for my eye to keep peeking through as steadiily as I can. I think that a minimum of 10mm is acceptable to me or maybe 12mm. . Am I correct?

A: Yes that is correct. 10 or 12mm will be okay. It also depends on how large of an aperture your scope has. The bigger front opening of the scope the brighter the image.

Q: 6. Is this a good eyepiece and is it compatible with the Celestron Nexstar 105 GT telescope?

A: Televue Panoptics are excellent eyepieces. Very sharp, clear images. To determine if an eyepiece is compatible with your telescope you first need to calculate your telescope's Maximum True Field of View, then calculate the eyepiece's True field of View. Eyepieces that have a True Field of View greater than your telescope's Maximum True Field of View will cutoff the image and have chromatic aberrations around the edges. Generally speaking, it does not hurt to go a little over tFOV with quality eyepieces, but the more the eyepiece's tFOV is over the telescopes's max tFOV more of the image is cutoff and the worse the chromatic aberrations get around the edges. There are several very good free eyepiece calculators available on the web to calculate Max tFOV, and help determine eyepiece compatibility.

Q: 7. What's the condition of Ethos EP?

A: The USED Tele Vue Ethos 13mm Ultra Wide-Angle Eyepiece (1.25"/2") Used Cat #2699851 • MFR #ETH-13.0 Condition: 9 Minor surface marks Very good condition; overall looks clean but may have minor signs of use/surface marks. There are no scratches or blemishes to the optics.

Q: 8. What is country of origin ? Tele Vue 13mm Ethos 2 / 1.25 Eyepiece with 100 degree.

A: Taiwan, Republic of China

Q: 9. Does this require dioptrx adapter?

A: No, not necessary. The Tele Vue Nagler Type-6 9mm Eyepiece (1.25") BH #TEEN69N • MFR #EN6-09.0 should work in any telescope that takes a 1.25" eyepiece.

Q: 10. Are the Delos eyepieces par-focal?

A: Yes they are par focal with many other Televue eyepieces. Go to the televue site and look at the chart of eyepiece specifications. Scan the column 4G . Eyepieces with the same letter in that column are parfocal. So most of the Delos ep's have the letter B . You will see that some other types of TV eyepieces also have the letter B . All those are par focal.

Bought this for a wide field eyepiece with a 102 Mak.  It is simple, clear, and beautiful.  Balances well on a small scope.

The glass is top quality water clear producing bright views with high contrast and a very flat field. I use it with my TV 85 producing 19x with a 2.65 degree Actual FOV. (5 full moons)

The TV 32mm Plossl is noticeably superior to Chinese made Plossels. It's not even close.

Highly recommend, worth every penny. Buy with confidence.

Karl

I have just started my trek into the stars and with the assistance and professional advice of B&H, my trip has been most rewarding and proficient with the purchase of all my products here, not just this simple high quality product. There is nothing that could top this simple explanation about B&H, and I am not a politician, so thanks B& H Photo, u da bes, as we say in S. Louisiana. Joe FournetLafayette, LA

This is the recommend eyepiece by Daystar Filters to use with the Quark Filters on SCT. The contrast is better than the other eyepiece I tested for this purpose.

This is a very good eyepiece but only slightly better than the 32mm Meade 4000 Plossl. It has slightly better contrast and slightly better performance near the edges of the field than the Meade 4000.

I tried it first time tonight and with 8 Meade LX90 with dew shield in an area with heavy light pollution. Compared to stock Meade 26mm eyepiece, the eye relief is much more longer and enough to use when wearing eyeglasses. I observed more objects in each field because the field of view is broader. Andromeda galaxy became visible and blue snowball nebula became significant with this eyepiece. The image quality is certainly better and observation is more enjoyable. Lumicon UHC Gen3 filter fits it easily but the views of nebulas are not much better with the filter when compared with unfiltered view. Cheers, Levent
