The Astra 6X Bi-Color LED Light Panel from LitePanels offers significantly brightness due to the use of tightly-binned LEDs and fine-tuned TIR (Total Internal Reflection) optics, resulting in a longer throw over a wider field. It offers flicker-free 0-100% dimming with no visible color shift, and has a high CRI of 95 for accurate color rendering

The Astra's functions may be adjusted locally using the intuitive built-in controls, or operated remotely with one of the optional DMX512 Modules, available in XLR 5-Pin, RJ-45, or Wireless formats. Each module provides Master/Replica configuration for the control of single lights, or multiple light fixtures in a network or daisy chain. In addition, the Astra Bluetooth module provides the same kind of control of single or multiple lights from a portable device, using the free LitePanels SmartLite app download. The accessory modules slide into place on the rear of the Astra panel simply and quickly, with no wiring or complex installation required.

The Astra 6X Bi-Color comes with both US and EU power cables, plus a universal (100-240 VAC) adapter. It also operates on 13-24 VDC batteries by using V-Mount or Gold Mount battery plates, available separately. The unique curved yoke design features a TVMP connector for hanging or stand mounting the panel almost anywhere, and two additional 1/4"-20 female taps offer alternate mounting points.

Q: 1. I would be mainly using these battery powered, so I am leaning towards the EPs because the other Astras (4x brighter) will drain batteries faster a lot faster, correct? Also, to get the 4x up to full power using batteries, let's say Anton Bauers, I'd have to get the digital 150s as opposed to the Digital 90s. I think the EPs drain 55W and the 4x brighter ones drain 110W. That seems like I would be going through a ton more batteries going with the 4x brighter Astras as opposed to the EPs, and batteries wouldn't last nearly as long. Can someone check my logic?

A: I would go with the brighter light. You will need the larger battery but the draw is very small and they last an amazingly long time. you will be very happy you went with the brighter light if you go that route. If you go with a small battery you can always turn the fan off and the Astra will run at 50% brightness if you want to conserve battery and can make due with a dimmer light. But if you have a big batt or plug in you will always have the extra punch if you need it.

Q: 2. Can an IDX DUO-C98 96Wh High-Load Battery V mount battery be used in this light an/or model?

A: The IDX-DUO-C98 is capable of running a Litepanels Astra 6x.

Q: 3. Which version of the Astra Bi-Color line is this Astra Soft based on, before diffusion, LED power wise? Or is it unique? The E version (Same Power of Original 1x1), the EP version (2x Power of Original 1x1), or the newest unlabeled version that is 4x Power of Original 1x1 version? And why are the specs the lowest, the price the highest, despite the model being the newest? Is that all diffusion? Which is of course needed no matter what...

A: The Astra Soft Bi-Color is using and powering the same LEDs as the unlabeled 4x power Astra 1x1 Bi-Color. Because there is a medium diffusion built in to the front of these LEDs, the light has a wider beam angle (90) in contrast to the the 4x Astra that is throwing the illumination further with a tighter beam angle (45)

Q: 4. Is the A/B mountable to the back of the Astra 6x ?

A: Yes, you use 1 battery at a time.

Q: 5. Will the 1x1 run of a Anton Bauer Gold most battery?

A: This panel can run on Anton Bauer Gold Mount batteries with the help of the Litepanels Anton Bauer Gold-Mount Battery Bracket for Astra 1x1 LED Panel B&H # LIABGMBP. Please see the image below.

Q: 6. The case stores the 2 light stands as well, right?

A: Yes the case can hold two light stands in addition to the two Astra 6X panels.

Q: 7. I read that these lights are one 2 times brighter than the original, where the Litepanels Astra Bi-Color LED Panel are 4x brighter than original. In your experience do you find the EP is sufficient or is it worth another 400 for each light to get the other ones?

A: Yes .. Definitely worth the difference in cost .. Love these lights .. I now have 4 of them .. You can power them from a mini van .. with an ac outlet! They are great!

Q: 8. Are these considered spots, or floods? or do they configure as both?

A: The beam angle is 46 degrees. It is in between a spot and a flood. You can get softboxes to soften and increase the spread of the light.

Q: 9. CRI?

A: According to Litepanels, they estimate the CRI of this unit to be in the range of 90-93.

Q: 10. If I add Snapbag Softboxs, Grids, Cloth Sets, and Barndoors via an adapter for each light in the 2 or 3 light kit will that all fit within the case?

A: I doubt it will all fit. It's pretty tight with the lightstands. You might be able to cut out some foam and make some room though.
