Blending a sleek form factor with a bright optical design, the black, FUJIFILM X-mount 35mm f/1.2 Lens from 7artisans is a versatile prime well-suited for everyday, available light photography. Its slim and lightweight design mixes well with the fast f/1.2 maximum aperture to suit working in low-light conditions, and also offers increased control over depth of field for working with selective focus techniques. The optical design is also complemented by a multi-layer coating, which serves to minimize surface reflections, flare, and ghosting in order to produce greater contrast and color accuracy in various lighting conditions. Additionally, the lens has a manual focus design that permits working with subjects as close as 1.1' away and its rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

Compact portrait-length prime is designed for APS-C-format FUJIFILM X-mount mirrorless cameras and offers a 52.5mm equivalent focal length.

Exceptionally fast f/1.2 maximum aperture benefits working with shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques, and also suits photographing in low-light conditions.

Multi-layer coating has been applied to individual elements and reduces flare and ghosting in order to produce greater contrast and color accuracy when working in strong lighting conditions.

Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

Manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 1.1'.

Depth of field and distance scales aid pre-focusing and zone focusing techniques.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this lens auto focus?

A: No. This lens is fully manual. Manual focus; manual aperture

Q: 2. Is this the markII of this lens?

A: We have only seen rumors of the Mark II so far--this is the original lens.

Q: 3. What's photoelectric about this? Or is that just marketing speak?

A: Just branding speak, the lens is manual focus and manual aperture only, nothing electric everything photo.

Q: 4. Could this work with a metabones speedbooster T XL? EF to MFT

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/1.2 Lens for Canon EF-M will not work with a Metabones T Speed booster lens adapter because the canon lens needs to be closer to the sensor than the MFT lens for it to focus. Canon EF-M flange distance is 18mm and the MFT flange distance is 19.25mm.

Q: 5. It is compatible with Nikon Z5?

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/1.2 Lens for Nikon Z is a DX format lens. It can be mounted on the Z5 but because the Z5 is an FX camera, you would need to set the Z5 to DX mode. DX mode reduces the resolution to 11mp and crops the image by 1.5x. The Yasuhara Anthy35 35mm f/1.8 Lens for Nikon Z would be a better option for a full frame camera such as the Z5.: https://bhpho.to/3k9Lu9w

Q: 6. Will Fuji X series focus assist function with this lens?

A: Yes it does , focus peaking

Q: 7. Anyone own this and the TT 35mm f1.4? Which do you like better?

A: The TTArtisan 35mm f/1.4 Lens for FUJIFILM X would be better if you need a shorter minimum focusing distance. Otherwise both lenses are excellent in terms of low light performance and sharpness.

Q: 8. For Sony FE, will the 52mm still be at f1.2?

A: Yes, the maximum aperture will remain at f/1.2.

Q: 9. Hola is compatibility with Nikon d7100

A: No. This is for the Nikon Z-series Z-mount cameras (yours if an F-mount camera), such as the Z50 / Z5 / Z6 / Z6 II / Z7 / Z7 II.

Q: 10. Does it have that dreamy vintage lens look?

A: Vintage lenses do not have the advantages of the latest lens design, latest materials for glass, and latest sophisticated coatings. This lens has been built like a vintage lens. Doing so has allowed it to be built with what is not considered imperfections such a flare, vignetting, barrel distortion, and softness with a wide open aperture. Therefore this indeed has that vintage lens dreamy look.

This exceeded my expectations. A very sharp lens that makes it easy to get a wide angle shallow DOF. It also works well for video (In my opinion) since it has hard aperture stops and has a smooth yet well friction based focus ring. Also great build quality.

It's a very solid build, super cool retro look, and nice optics. I use it for portraiture and street photography. As expected, a 1.2 lens is a bit soft when fully open but sometimes that's a nice effect.

This is a great little lens. Heavier than expected, but in a good way. Doesn't feel cheaply made and smooth controls. Would definitely buy again I like it that much. Great little lens.

this is a S35/APSC sensor 35mm lens so a ff equivalent of ~52.5 this lens is perfect if you get past that it is all manual :)

Got this lens as my 1st prime lens and it's fantastic for the price! Had to make some changes to the cameras auto-focus settings as it is a manual focus lens but would recommend!

I like this little inexpensive lens. I was looking for a single lens to mount on my Sony Alpha a-6000 for casual, all purpose photography when I don't want to carry my whole camera bag. I wanted a fast lens for low light. My expectations were not extremely high. As others mentioned, wide open it's fairly soft, but close it down a bit and it produces very acceptable results. The feel is nice and tight on the focus and aperture rings, but not too tight. The retro look is a nice bonus.
