The Long Range 8-Port Gigabit PoE+ Switch from EDIMAX Technology is designed for homes and small- to medium-sized network environments. With eight DIP switches, the PoE port can be manually set for On-Off control to extend the PoE delivery distance up to 656' at 10 Mb/s, and also support port-based On-Off for VLAN and QoS functions. The switch easily connects and supplies power to PoE-enabled devices such as wireless access points, network cameras, and IP phones, as well as other Ethernet-enabled devices such as computers, printers, and network attached storage (NAS). Four IEEE 802.3at PoE+ ports supply up to 30W of electricity per port. The GS-1008P V2 can convert standard 100-240 VAC power into low-voltage 50-57 VDC electricity to power IEEE 802.3at compliant network accessories via existing LAN cables.

Q: 1. I need a poe switch to transmit my nvr video feed to several locations. does this switch support hdmi over ethernet?

A: Yes, this Netgear GS308EP 8-Port Gigabit PoE+ Compliant Unmanaged Switch will support the HDMI. The setup usually is that the cameras will connect to the switch, the switch to the NVR, the NVR to HDMI splitter (per monitor), to HDMI over Ethernet extender, to each monitor.

Q: 2. TP-Link has different hardware versions for the same model. Can you confirm if this one is V1, V2, or V2.6?

A: The TP-Link TL-SG105PE 5-Port Gigabit PoE+ Compliant Unmanaged Switch (BH #TPTLSG105PE • MFR #TL-SG105PE) is currently version 2.6.

Q: 3. Are the ears of the rack hardware reversable? In other words can I have the ports facing the inside of the rack?

A: The Netgear GS116PP 16-Port Gigabit PoE+ Compliant Unmanaged Switch BH #NEGS116PP100 • MFR #GS116PP-100NAS only shows 3 screws needed in V-shape so it is not possible to connect the ears in reverse because it can only be connected one way.

Q: 4. can this be rackmounted? if so, are the parts for mounting included?

A: The Netgear GS308PP 8-Port Switch is not rack mountable.

Q: 5. Can this be powered by a PoE injector?

A: Yes, the Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Switch Flex 5-Port Managed Gigabit PoE Network Switch BH #UBUSWFLEX can be powered by PoE injector.

Q: 6. Does this switch support 802.11at?

A: This switch supports 802.3at. We are not aware of an 802.11at standard.

Q: 7. Does this switch additional power supply if already connected by PoE input?

A: No, if you connect this switch with POE, you do not need to use the additional power supply.

Q: 8. Which hardware version is this? v1 or v2?

A: As of 1/29/21 stock, we have V1.

Q: 9. How can this be considered POE when it meets no POE standard? What the heck is Ubiquiti trying to pull here... This won't work for my Dante - Studio Tech gear...

A: This model is POE compatible and does inject some wattage into the line, which may or may not be enough to power all of your devices: Electrical Power Draw 8.0 W DC Input Power 24 VDC at 2.5 A PoE per Port 15 W

Q: 10. Can two of these switches be daisy chained and if so does it have AutoMdix capability or is a Patch style cable required?

A: The Netgear GS308EP 8-Port Gigabit PoE+ Compliant Managed Switch features auto-MDI/MDIX.
