Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this work with the Deity D3 (non pro) providing phantom power?

A: This adapter will work with the V-Mic D3. Please note the D3 uses battery power, plug-in power is not needed to run the mic.

Q: 2. Can someone describe what is connected to each 1/8 in. connection (tip. ring, sleeve) in terms of signal, power, and ground?

A: A specific TRS input wiring schematic is not available for the Deity Microphones D-XLR 3.5mm to XLR Adapter with Phantom to Plug-In Power Conversion, however we can confirm that the D-XLR is compatible with microphones using the 3.5mm "Sennheiser" wiring configuration for compatibility. This adapter is not compatible with microphones wired for compatibility with Sony input connections.

Q: 3. Will this work with Rode Reporter Omnidirectional Handheld Interview Microphone or can you suggest a wireless solution for this mic?

A: The Rode Reporter is a dynamic XLR microphone. A wireless system like this would be a good option to use with it: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1187383-REG/rode_news_shooter_newsshooter_kit_digital_wireless.html?sts=pi&pim=Y

Q: 4. Will this work with Voice Technologies VT 500 lavaliers with 3.5mm connectors?

A: This adapter should work with a 3.5mm VT500 wired for Sennheiser systems.

Q: 5. How long is the cable from the split?

A: The cable for the Deity Microphones Dual-Head W.Lav Pro Omni Lavalier Microphones (Black) is approximately 63" long, including the mics. The length from the mics to the split is approximately 39" and the length from the split to the connector is approximately 24".

Q: 6. Does this convert unbalanced TRS to balanced XLR?

A: TS connection mics are usually only compatible with the mic transmitters or mic inputs that they are made for specific compatibility with.

Q: 7. Will this work with Deity w.lav microphones? Other similar adapter from Movo does not work.

A: Yes, the D-XLR is compatible with Deity's V.Lav microphone. The D-XLR takes 12 to 48 VDC phantom power from the mic preamp on the camera, recorder or mixer you are connecting to and converts it into 3V plug-in power, which is required for operation of the V.Lav.

Q: 8. will the TSN-DA4 work on an older model Zeiss Spotter (approx 10 yrs old) with the correct adaptor?

A: This is the largest diameter holder with a 60 mm eyepiece diameter, which works on most scopes. Measure your eyepiece to see if it fits this. 60 mm = 2.3 inch diameter. Celestron NexYZ 3-Axis Universal Smartphone Adapter B&H # CENEXYZ3ASA MFR # 81055

Q: 9. Any meaningful differences of the Diety S-Mic 2 and the Rode NTG-1 shotguns for crowd miking?

A: The S-Mic 2 may be a better choice because it has a slightly wider pickup range which is better to capture audio from multiple people than a mic with a very narrow pickup range, which is better for picking up one person. The S-Mic 2 is easy to use because it has no onboard switches or controls to adjust and it is also moisture resistant. Its frequency response range is 50 Hz to 20 kHz, it handles loud sounds up to 130 dB SPL, and has very low noise. The NTG1 has a frequency response range or 20 Hz to 20 kHz and handles loud sounds up to 138 dB SPL, and also has low noise. It also has an onboard low-cut filter which is useful to reduce low rumbling background noise. Both the S-Mic 2 and NTG1 are very good mics, but for miking a crowd, the S-Mic 2 may be the better option since it has a wider pickup range and not as focused as the NTG1. The noise level rating for the S-Mic 2 is slightly lower than the NTG1 (12 dBA vs 18 dBA). The moisture resistance is also a good feature for outdoor use.

Q: 10. Is XLR connection balanced?

A: Yes, the Deity D-XLR 3.5mm to XLR Adapter with Phantom to Plug-In Power Conversion provides a balanced signal.

these cables are not plentiful from different makers, so for a couple of dollars more, I just would rather go original manufacturer. Using deity tc-1
