Q: 1. How many 17x20 prints could you make with a set of new ink cartridges?

A: Print(s) per cartridge is not something manufacturers like to list as it can change based off each user. Size of prints, color vs B&W. But the printers software will tell you how much ink was used per print, so based off your needs, you can gauge what it uses.

A: It should have plenty of ink in the cartridge. It may have solidified over that long of time. Remove the cartridge and shake it lightly and reinstall. Make a small test print (4 x 6 inch) to verify. If this works I'd suggest doing same to the other cartridges too. Also, run the cleaning application that the printer came with to clean nozzles. The cartridges also have a Use by date so you may have passed this date up; however, I don't think this is the problem. Good luck.

A: B&H buys and sells ink in bulk. In general, we regularly maintain fresh ink stock. All of our ink is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our inks prior to purchase.

A: Never let the photos on B&H's website frighten you, they're no always up to date. Best way to check is to look for the original manufacturer SKU # which reads T580100 That is the correct cartridge, it will work.

Q: 7. If I buy the 3880 epson printer and the 9-ink refill kit, would I also need this blank ink???

A: The Epson R3880 comes with a full set of inks. We do not carry refill inks for this printer, only genuine Epson inks, which are not refillable. All 9 ink cartridges must be installed together and with some capacity in order for the printer to be able to print.

A: Well it depends on the color of the ink and the color of the picture. The 4900 uses color ink even to print B&W pictures . So it is a question that needs more information to answer.

A: That depends on a number of variables, not the least of which is the size of prints being produced. Unless you're frequently doing very large prints, the shelf life of the cartridge will be exceeded before you run out of ink. I've been very impressed with the number of prints possible with a set of cartridges, although I did have to replace the black cartridge earlier.
