Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this work with the Senal UEM-155 with TA4F?

A: Electro-Voice has stated that the TXA - TA4-Male to XLR-Male Adapter will not function with other brands of microphones.

Q: 2. Will this work with Shure PGA98H?

A: Yes, the Electro-Voice TXA - TA4-Male to XLR-Male Adapter is compatible for use with the Shure PGA98H-TQG Clip-On Cardioid Condenser Horn Mic with TA4F (B&H # SHPGA98HTQG). The TXA adapter will convert the TA4F plug to standard 3-pin XLR and allows you to use phantom power from mic input on the mixer, amplifier, or recorder to power the PGA98H microphone.

Q: 3. Will this work with the Rode SmartLav+?

A: No as the smartlav+ has a TRRS connection. The VXLR is a TRS to XLR adaptor only.

Q: 4. Is this the best choice to connect the line out from the Zoom H3-VR to the XLR input of the Zoom F8nPro? Is there a best cable your recommend?

A: Instead of using the Rode VXLR Adapter, you can use a single cable with the appropriate connectors to send the output from the Zoom H3-VR Audio Recorder into the XLR inputs on the Zoom F8n Pro Field Recorder. Use a cable like the Kopul Stereo Right-Angle 1/8" Male Mini-Jack to XLR Male Cable - 6' (B&H # KORSMXM06) for connection to a single input or the Hosa Technology Pro Stereo Breakout Cable - 3.5mm Stereo Mini to Dual 3-Pin XLR Male - 6' (B&H # HOHMX006Y) for connection to dual inputs.

Q: 5. Can I connect a JBL Lifestyle Can I plug in my JBL Quantum 300 Gaming headset to this adapter and plug it into an audio interface or mixer?

A: So that we may properly assist you, please contact via phone, email or live chat.

Q: 6. I have a Rode Wireless Go and I want to plug the transmitter into the soundboard and the receiver will plug into my DSLR. What cable will I need from the VXLR to the transmitter?

A: This adapter would be to take the cable that comes out of the receiver and bring it in to an XLR input, not an output. We are not aware of an option that will allow you to feed a sound board in to the Rode Wireless Go's Transmitter at this time.

Q: 7. will this work for rode wireless go into zoom h6?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 8. Will this work to conect a Hollyland lark max into a Zoom Podtrak?

A: The RODE VXLR 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter can be used to connect a wireless receiver, such as the Hollyland Lark Max, to the XLR input of an audio recorder. However, the audio signal passed through the adapter can only be mono.

Q: 9. Will this work to use a SHURE headset wireless mic in a hardwired situation? I have the wireless headset but don't want to use the wireless rig. I want to plug it directly into my mixer.

A: Per the EV included paperwork - "TXA will not function with other manufacturers TAF4 terminated microphones." I can definitely say that it is not working with my Shure WL185 lavalier mic with or without phantom power, and no amount of gain seems to get anything coming through it. This would have been good to know prior to ordering it.

Q: 10. Will this adapter work from the rodelink wireless to Sony FS5 XLR?

A: While I do not own the FS5, the audio inputs on your camera are XLR at mic and line level. The Rode Link outputs to 1/8 jack and will connect to your camera via this adapter perfectly using the supplied (Rode) 1/8 short cable.
